Cool character. We need more supporting, friendly to 007 characters like him in the future. RIP Tiger. :)

Tamba was quite wonderful in You Only Live Twice. I love his line..."welcome...ha ha had...welcome to Japan Mr. Bond." He is one of my favorite characters in all of the Bond cannon. Tetsuro Tamba left his stamp on the James Bond series. He will be greatly missed.

Sad to hear.

A fine actor, a fine man, a great Bond character.

You will be missed, but not forgotten.

Tamba was such a highlight to YOLT as Tiger, he has always ranked as one of the best Bond allies in my book. He will be missed but not forgotten.

My condolences-that is one of my favorite Bond films and he was truly a great ally. Anytime I have ever been out in a male bonding situation at some point where I know the ropes to something and am showing somebody else how it's done in any aspect of life, and this is no lie, I usually always imagine at some point that I am Tiger and he is Bond. He left a great impression on my life and it will be a little sadder knowing one less great Bond actor is still with us. RIP Tanaka.

I always thought it was kind of a shame they didn't bring him back (and Robert Rietty's voice) back for another appearance as Tiger in a later Bond film. The Bond films are always throwing in new characters that Bond has already met. Why not someone the audience has met as well. That's one thing the Star Trek films were good at.

Anyway, rest in peace, Tetsuro-san.

Yes, RIP Tamba-san. Thanks for your indelible contribution to the world of Bond. You were a great asset to your film and you created a memorable character.

Japanese TV had a small report where Tamba-san claimed Connery was 'friendly'.

Yeah-it would've been great to see him as Tiger in a later Bond film. I was also hoping that an opportunity to meet him at some convention would've presented itself.

Yes, it would have been good to see him in another one, say, TMWTGG, instead of Lieutenant Hip???
