It's been another two years' work, so it's quite fulfilling to see this up here now. There were a lot of new things I tried with this one, pretty exciting for me. Hope you enjoy it.

Finally, something to make this Monday worth while. I shall dig in immediately.
Congrats, Fenna, that feel of having pulled something as big as a novel from the primordial sand of the mind is a great feeling. Kick back and enjoy .
Evan, amazing work as always. Makes me want to write something just so I can beg you into making another of these flawless covers.

And Evan, a wonderful, striking cover as always. CBn may not publish fanfiction on the main page as often as other sites, but when it goes up there,

You can go to Wikipedia now.
Anyway, kudos to all at CBn for giving Fenz the speeding-through-London-in-the-back-of-a-Daimler treatment.

Great stuff...and addictive.
Need to give my eyes a break from the screen.
But can't take my eyes off it.
BTW - Flattered by the simple acknowledgement to myself and the other wanker.
Glad to think we helped in all the emails, chats and endless conversations at the pool, dinners and roaming about Monte Carlo.
Quite proud of you luv.

Joyce Carrington IS back!
No....REALLY.

re: The Cover:
Did Joyce die her hair
It's the lighting!
Thank you for the congratulations, everyone - and thanks to the CBn Team for the treatment indeed.
Now, before anyone goes blaming me for their disrupted lives (not getting enough sleep, failing a test, getting fired), It IS a book, people. You CAN put it down.
Heh.

Fenna....
I've already e-mailed you to death...
Ladies and Gents -
Worth your time to read.
Puts any of my writing or "Touch of Fleming" bits to shame.
You read it.
You feel it.
Amazing work.
By an amazing author.
It's good.
REAL good and the last chapter had me laughing after all the events.
Can't wait for the final third of the Trilogy.
You did good darling.
Entertainingly good.
"You know her name..."
Bravo.

I'm very glad you enjoyed it, Bryce. Very glad you had some laughs too, in this dark chapter of the trilogy.

So, I guess, my question to you, Fenna, is - would you be interested in that occuring at some point in the future?

I can't imagine why anyone would want to write something set in that weirded-out crazy (and kind of evil) MI6 universe I have come up with, but say that someone would...
Er...
*thinks*
Y'know, I'm terribly, terribly fond of Joyce in a sort of obsessed no-one-causes-her-pain-but-me-way. While I think it might be fun to see where other people take her, there's a chance I would be very displeased and would have to kill the 'continuation author'. As for a spin-off of the spin-off, say, a Cameron Berkley adventure, it would be hilarious - but still... My babies.
Perhaps you should try it after I'm dead, so I can only roll over in my grave. (Like many people are sure Fleming did during Benson's reign).
The thing is, I can't seem to put Joyce down myself. My sodden brain has been thinking about Joyce's life after the trilogy (yes, she survives the third part) and I have been coming up with very interesting ideas. Which I might very well want to (have to - writing urges) jot down.
Hope that sort of answers your question.

You mean all that reading for no pay off!
You've cheated me Ms. Geelhoed, you've cheated me.

Brilliant!
This was a great follow up to Off Balance, and I look forward to the final installment of the trilogy.
Fenna, I continue to be impressed with the multitude of characters you've created and the richness of the world you've placed them in. Your plot offers plenty of intrigue, and the pace is non-stop.
Anyone who has yet to discover Joyce, should really consider reading both of these fine works.

I am interested to know from people who've read Past Bearing how they felt about...
Again, thanks.

I personally felt that Joyce's decisions, whether they were good or bad, were believable, and if fact quite understandable, given her particular point of view. She certainly did make her share of mistakes (perhaps MORE than her share) and she'll have to live with the repercussions. The interesting thing for me, will be to see how she handles herself going forward. Will she learn from her mistakes? Will she be able to put her emotions aside at times, and not allow them to be the dictating factor in her decision making? Will she grow to trust in herself and her abilities?
Obviously, these are just some of the questions facing her, especially given the situation she finds herself in, at the end of this volume.
I guess I'll just have to wait to find out the answers. Somehow, I don't think you'll let me down.
