Everytime I listen to this song iI like it more! I think it adds the Bondnes if you will of LALD with the rock of AVTAK. It also in a way huntingly beautiful. Am i alone in my school of thought does anyone extremely dislike this song ?

Certainly not my #1 favourite, but I rank it as a fairly solid Bond song.

Other members on here like it too apparently: http://debrief.comma...showtopic=19473

The haters are always the most vocal. Which is why the poll for the new Bond song is pretty positive, but if you went through that thread...you wouldnt know it :)

I really like The Living Daylights (the soundtrack was the first I ever bought by the way). In fact a-ha's song is my second favorite Bond theme behind A View To A Kill. The biggest problem with The Living Daylights, however, is that some of the lyrics are difficult to decipher. Other than that, great song. :)

It is one of the best. That's for sure. I also liked Duran Duran's AVTAK theme. I guess, I have a soft spot for 80's music since I was born mid 80's and some of my earliest and fondest memories trace back in the 80's. Who knows. But I like it the song.

It's not my favorite, but I do like it a lot. The use of the melody in "Hercules Takes Off" is also superb. However, as a theme within the film score, I prefer the melody of "Where Has Everybody Gone?" And I also love "If There Was a Man." So, all around, really a great score and three great songs.

Um, no. Not by a long shot...picking the pop idol of the day might have worked for "A View To A Kill"...but certainly not here.

Soundtrack's great though.

Definitely. One of the best tracks on an already fantastic soundtrack.

"The Living Daylights" is one of the better songs in the series (easily a top 5 Bond title song, IMO), but I think that it's edged out by songs such as FYEO , AVTAK, and "Nobody Does It Better".

It was a very solid Bond song, there have been others that sound the same as some others... Just a thought.

"Where Has Everybody Gone?" - I love that song and its use in the score. Much better the the title song, TLD.

I prefer their un-orchestrated version (as heard on their own album), but the one in the movie is definitely in my Bond Top 20.

i don't care for the lyrics, but the title song music was good and i liked the way it was used several times alone within the film. i always thought it was one of barry's better scores.

TLD is one of the more underrated Bond songs IMO. It has a nice pace that's not too slow but has a nice groove to it.

I don't think it charted at all in the US, but got up to #5 in the UK.

A-Ha's popularity had really faded in the US by the time the movie came out, which has a lot to do with the lack of chart success. Great tune though...

It's a fine song, though it seems more dated than even AVTAK, and provided wonderful material for Barry to orchestrate.

Not one of a-ha's best songs, but I do like it nonetheless. More to my preferred style of music than some of the other title songs we've had over the years. Would probably rank it in my top five.

It's probably one of the Bond themes I listen to the most, from listening to the Best of Bond CD and also my a-ha Greatest Hits CD.

Not my favorite Bond song but it's John Barry's final title song and a worthy contribution to the series and was a good start to what turned out to be the best Bond film made between 1970 and 2000.

Easily one of my favourite Bond songs. I think it far outranks the often over-rated song 'Live and Let Die' and I think it's implemention into the score is amongst some of the best examples of the series (such as when Bond is jumping from rooftop-to-rooftop.
