I don't think it's any secret that several of us here have read the script for Casino Royale. So, same scenario, if the script for Bond 22 (or an early draft, as was the case with CR) became available to you, would you read it?

I thought long and hard about reading the CR script, and I figured reading the book already spoiled me on all the big twists, so I figured what the hell. With Bond 22 it might be different. We don't know how much Fleming (if any) is going to show up in the next film, so we might get a completely original story. In that case I might take a pass on the script (Were it to be available).

Depends on the release date gap between the world premiere and Australian release.

Pick it apart and rewrite the parts that stink.

I would give in to temptation and read it. I hope I never get the chance. For CR I would have as I was already aware of the main story... but for B22 it's clearly a lot different.

I also fear I would be unable to resist temptation, but I'm so glad I wasn't exposed to the CR script. Even having read the book, I'm really glad to be going to see it blind. For the first time, I think I can say that for the future, even if offered the script for a Bond film, I'll be able to say "No, thanks".

I'm definite that I wouldn't read the script. I'm with everyone else, spoilers are great but only in moderation. Like the trailers and posters, you really want to say "Wow, this film is going to be great" If you know everything, there's no excitement in the running up for the movie.

Absolutely. I'd read several of the books (including OHMSS) before I saw the film versions and never felt anything had been particularly spoiled for me. Reading the script isn't much different. Besides,in most cases there are bound to be differences between the draft doing the rounds and the finished product.

I doubt it. I may read the pre-title and then quit, but that's about it.

I would read it; I personally have never been too concerned about spoilers. There's such a big difference for me between reading a script and seeing it visualized. I read the script for Fight Club a year before it came out, and still loved the film even though I knew the twist.

Definitely not. In fact, I've been considering going into Bond 2.2 COMPLETELY blind. Usually, I read spoilers, read the news on the film while it's being made, and watch the trailers and TV spots over and over again. But maybe for Bond 2.2 I'll just stick with the title and the release date. Nothing else! Not the cast, not production news, not spoilers, not trailers, not TV spots, and certainly not the CBn forums. Absolutely nothing! Very few bond fans can say they've done that!

I wouldn't read any Bond script for a film I hadn't seen. I just think it would spoil it. I can't for the life of me understand why some die-hard Bond hands have read the CR script, for instance. Doesn't that ruin part of the whole cinema experience for you?

To the answer the question, no I certainly won't be reading the Bond 22 script prior to release.

Nope I can't stand spoilers and everytime I watch the trailer I feel like i'm cheating so I would not read the script if my dogs life depended on it.

I wouldn't even glance at the script. Instead I would burn it, so I would never have a temptation to read it.

I don't think I would read the whole thing. I would probably read bits a pieces of it, and that would be about it. I don't mind a small amount of spoilers, but I wouldn't want to spoil the whole movie. :)

Oh, I won't be searching for it, but should the opportunity arise, I will most certainly take advantage. I love spoilers! It doesn't really ruin the cinema experience for me. Sure, I may know how the movie will end, but I like the fact that I know more than everyone else there. Sounds strange, I'm sure. Besides, as it's been mentioned, there are changes that are made to the script from start to finish so I may not see what I've read (i.e. deleted scenes, additional scenes/dialogue, etc.).

for some reason, knowing things ahead of time never spoiled the event for me. if the opportunity presented itself, i'd read it, and it wouldn't ruin my viewing experience at all. i always tried to read the novelizations prior to seeing a film ... they are written before the final cuts are made and usually include scenes left on the cutting room floor as well as additional background material that could actually help to clear up confusing plot points.

besides ... if the script for bond 22 were to surface today, you can bet that with the many re-writes and revisions a bond script goes through, it may not even resemble the final product.

No I would not read it.

I was offered a chance to read the CASINO ROYALE script and turned it down. I like to be surprised by some things in the movie theater. I think that my enjoyment of Tomorrow Never Dies was diluted a little by knowing too much about it beforehand.
