You may already know, that Raymond Benson, the author the current James Bond book series, is/has written a new book; Never Dream of Dying.

I'm sure that none of you can wait to read the book, and that is why, we should share our knowledge, to help others to ease the pain of having to wait for the book to be released in their home country.

So if you manage to purchase the book, please post some quotes or some info about the book on the forums, I for one, can't wait to get my head into the book!

I'm eagerly waiting for it to be released!! I love the first two in the Union trilogy adn I'm sure this will be great as well. I just hope Le Gerant (sp?) doesn't die! I want more union!

Same here, the Union is great! The stories are far much better as Bond has another ongoing enemy; The Union. As everyone else says, it reminds us of the days when SPECTRE was around, however, the Union are far much brutal.

But then again, if Bond doesn't defeat Le Gerant's terrorising organisation, the books may become boring. Benson, may, bring out another bad organistaion, that rate far better than the Union and SPECTRE.

But back onto, "Never Dream of Dying", from what I have heard, it should be a great book.

A tip though, although you may feel desperate, don't pre-book it on Amazon.com/.co.uk as the price seems to be a rip off! I'd wait until the book is released, and then there will (hopefully) be loads of the copies. BTW, please don't blame it on me if they don't order loads of copies!

Well I still want Le Gerant not to die. He is quite a good villain and I think he has that style where he's too smart to ever let Bond get close. I dont' mind so much if Bond destroys some part of the Union, but I would really love to see it live on in some style and reappear in a few more novels, perhaps under a different name.

Yes! Enough so that Bond destorys it so much, that they have to stop operating for a couple of years and then re-start the organisation. However, after this novel, he should maybe leave them out for one novel, and then bring them back.

I'm not saying that the books will be rubbish otherwise, I just wouldn't mind some other badies!

What I'd love to see is The Union come back maybe in a year or two!

First though. A villain! Maybe appearing in one novel or two, but no more than that! Also not a head of a major syndicate like SMERSH or the UNION etc... but just a company! I'd want it to be a hot female villain who we don't find out about for ages. Bond's shagging her and then pow at the end major twist. Much like in TWINE but heaps better because it's in a novel. Like the twists in DoubleShot which were excellent!

That's what I want!!

I don't actually have any of the books but when this one comes out I am going get it and try to get some of his other Bond books. If anybody could tell me which the best books are I would be very grateful

In my opinion Benson's best books in order of preference are: 1) Never Dream of Dying 2) High Time to Kill 3) Doubleshot 4) The Facts of Death 5) Zero Minus Ten 6) Tomorrow Never Dies novelization 7) The World is Not Enough novelization.

You're right in getting and reading NEVER DREAM OF DYING because it rocks! -- but be aware that NDOD is the THIRD book in a trilogy (HTTK and DOUBLE are parts 1 & 2). You might wanna start with HTTK which is EXCELLENT, then move on to Doubleshot, THEN read NDOD. It's not really critical to read the books in order, but you might consider it.

Out of your list Dave I read the first two out of order. It didn't really bother me though. I did have trouble with the Helena Marksburry character though.

I agree, but I would start by reading all his books in order. I didn't, because I wasn't too sure of the order, but now I know, and wish that I did!

3) High Time To Kill
4) Doubleshot
5) Never Dream Of Dying
