From what I've heard the print run was small, yet TWINE firsts are quite easy to find and go for about $40 to $50.7777 (22 Oct, 2001 04:54 p.m.):
What about the, The World is Not Enough UK 1st, how much is it worth?

That was a number first put forth by James Pickard who probably got this number from Hodder before publication. Maybe that's what they originally planned, but it seems the print run was much higher. Most dealers now say the print run was 2,750. I often wonder if Pickard's 750 was just a typo.Blue Eyes (22 Oct, 2001 11:21 p.m.):
According to a recent Ebay auction it had a print run of 750.

Yes, I've heard of this town. Okay, next year when I'm in the UK for Bond 20, day trip!Jim (05 Sep, 2001 08:28 a.m.):
If you're ever in the UK I recommend Hay on Wye, a l'il town on the English/Welsh border. Whole damn place is poncey second hand bookstores.

Sounds like a first. Check the copyright page. If it is, and it's in great condition, it's certainly worth more that 50p. I've seen this book sell for $25 to $40 -- again, only if it's in VERY FINE to MINT condition.Dave (05 Sep, 2001 09:04 a.m.):
I have Licence Renewed. I'm not sure if it's a first edition or anything, it was printed int 1981 and it's in the same style as Fleming's first prints. On the back of the dust jacket it has a picture of Gardner standing in front of a portrait of Fleming.
Is it the first edition? Is it worth anything? I picked it up from a car boot sale for 50p.
Of course, I'm sure Jim can find one cheaper.

And I would advise you to PRE-ORDER the BOND 20 novelisation in hardcover. Because they release the hardcover and paperback concurrently, the print run of the hardcovers are VERY small and frequently sell out before publication. This happened w/ TWINE. If you had ordered the hardcover after it's publication date you would have recieved a second edition.Blue Eyes (26 Aug, 2001 12:53 a.m.):
Well I'm thankful that I picked up NDOD first edition then! Next year there are two first editions to pick up, I can't wait!!

Yes, pre-ordering from Amazon is the only way I know how to do it. Thank God for Amazon! Back in the old days I had to get my UK editions from rare book dealers who charge (and still charge) sometimes double the cover price.Blue Eyes (27 Aug, 2001 11:26 p.m.):
Thanks Zencat. Can you pre-order from Amazon? Is that how you would do it?

Tell him it's an "investment." That's what I told my dad when I needed cash for my Fleming firsts back in the '80s. Turns out it was a very shrewd investment indeed!Blue Eyes (28 Aug, 2001 02:50 a.m.):
Looks like I'm going have to nick my dad's credit card. I'll work on an excuse now

I don't suppose that's worth anything, is it?
I see now that everyone will be buying about 10 copies of RB's next book!

See if you can find the UK hardcover COLD. That's currently a $300 book.
That's too easy; Well done me for collecting all the Gardner first editions. Second hand bookstores are a much better bet than internet sites.
I think the most expensive Bond book I've bought was a first edition of moonraker (the flames cover) for

Just to prove me little theory, I went into a second hand bookshop in Oxford yesterday and whilst the shelves were hardly crammed with James Bond, you could pick up Win, Lose or Die for
