This guy just won't give up!! :) He seems to think he's some sort of fortune teller by predicting Casino Royale will fail!! Two points I have in rebuttal to this dark knight/moomoo person:

1. Has a Bond film ever flopped at the box office? Sure there have been ones that haven't done as well as others..i.e. OHMSS and LTK but loads of Bond fans will flock to the theater to catch the next 007 adventure!!

2. What serious competition does Casino Royale have in November in theaters? The Santa Clause 3??!! Little Happy Feet (or whatever that animated penguin movie is)...Trust me CR will do quite well and WILL WIN over most of the naysayers!!

Hi, am new here. I'm on the fence regading Craig's Bond but I saw this on another Bond site and made me very concerned that Eon and Sony have cast the wrong man as Bond. When I say the wrong man, I mean an actor that people won't consider is the right for the part. What you're about to see may change how you see Daniel Craig as Bond. Two images that I find quite powerful.

Welcome to the group, Moo Moo! Here's a photo of you and your sociopathic twin:

Moderator's note: removed. Two reasons; 1) we may have acted to restrict this person's right of reply, accordingly it would be unfair to keep such photos up there. 2) We're sick of seeing it.

I don't think Mads looks like Bond that much that it will matter. Who said villians have to be ugly? CR will be a hit!

Hear hear. Either way Bond is like Star Wars. Come the release date you'll find a bunch of us at the first screenings willing to pour our cash into something we love regardless of the quality of the film.

Well that Happy feet movie could do well, you can never underestimate family flicks. I could see it beating CR on its opening weekend, but then again Titanic beat TND and DAD only narrowly edged out the Harry Potter film that was in its second weekend, so it doesn't really mean anything.

Casino Royale will flop, folks. Less than 100 million US domestic and 250 million max total worldwide. Eon have cast, by Bond standards, an ugly man as Bond.

An ugly James Bond is an oxymoron but more than that, it's the worst business decision imaginable. It's like a sportscar that can never get out of first gear, a beautiful meal that's served cold. It's never going to be a hit with the public.

Wishing people will love Craig's look is just that - wishing. Joe Public won't take to Craig because he's got none of the aspiration people want from Bond. Gritty is not enough in a Bond film. Want grit, watch Bourne. Want aspiration, watch Bond. But Craig undermines this and it's simply because nature didn't give him the right face for Bond (nor, I would argue Bond charm).

I'll come back in December or January and I'll be proven right. If wrong, I'll apologise and you can mock me all you like. But Agent Moomoo is certain Casino Royale is going to mirror Miami Vice's box office. And that wasn't too good, folks! CR will flop. Sad but it's going to happen.

See ya.

You are in unfriendly waters here, Bond_Fan...I happen to agree with you on all counts. The Pro-Craig crowd on these forum sites sees only greatness out of Eon's decisions. November 20, 2006, when the USA box office results are in, we shall see who was correct.

I admit Daniel Craig is perhaps too ugly/limey blue collarish to be James Bond but, like a wise man Bob Night once said, "it's like gettin raped...if there's nothing you can do about it you might as well sit back and enjoy it" :) :P

Craig is infinately more interesting than his predecessor imho. :P

I like Bondfan he is very amusing and hugely passionate. I disagree with him but I love reading his posts.... annoying but forgiveable.

He is also knowledgeable and has his own style of writing. We shouldn't be too hard on him. A year ago when I first started getting into CBn, I loved reading his essays/posts but was struck by the amount of vitriol he incited. Leave him alone. he is entitled to say whatever he wants and no one can deny is ever far from entertaining!!!!

Long live Bondfan, Moomoo, Dark knight etc. I for one am looking forward to January

The people who are responsible for changing things such as this are either EVIL or MAD.

They are both.

They are worse than that. They make me cough up furballs in my outrage at the disgrace they inflict.

They turned Henderson into an Englishman! An Englishman!

They...ooh... they make me spit. Ooh.

If they bring swords, we bring duelling pistols. This is the only right and fair thing to do.

hmmm dark knight.. i cant stand the tone of that post. with the genuine spluttering anti-logic, the slightly venomous and blinkered adolescent venom of a true hater, a CNB window-licker. it also has the usual elements:
- distinct and somewhat vast abscess of humour / self awareness.
- misguided self certaininty, relentless attempted elucidation of shallow non-arguments and a slightly creepy, stalker-like presence behind the ( badly written ) words. mind numbing prejudice and dogmatic repitition of the typical hater-mantras.

I respect all craig sceptics..but this stuff bores me. I hope he can blow all of us away. One thing is obvious from his last films..the guy's screen presence is off the scale and he demands to be seen in action. - if anyone can pull this off its him. I believe in the guy but I'm worried for him. I hope everyone involved in CR is buzzing right now knowing they have got something special in the bag. Anything less and we can give up and let the morons take over Bond.

Also sorry but Craig is far more handsome than Mads, bless him.. the guy is great and similarly dangerous in Pusher, but he is not Bond at all. Craig however seems perfect for Bond.. [censored] the general audience if they can't hack DC and a complex plot. This is the only Bond film I'm interested in seeing right now. You can have your cartoon lightweight milk-tray man catalogue waiter Bond back next time.

:)

The real crime was using the same actor to play Blofeld. In women's linen! I must have missed that bit in the original Fleming novels, you Evil Obsessed-with-ruining-Fleming Nincompoops (as your acronym should stand for).

Obviously, I've only heard about the above two developments, as I was so irritated at reading of them that I refused to see either film. In fact, I refuse to see any Bond film post 1959 on the grounds that Broccoli et al have ruined the glorious source material. Although much of the continuity in the books contradicts itself - I can only actually read four Fleming novels and one short story as a result. All the ones Bond wears a tux in. Even Fleming was unfaithful to himself, and as a die-hard Bond fan, I find that positively shocking. That's a reference to TB, I believe, though I haven't seen it on account of them messing with Blofeld's back-story.

Long live Bond!*

*Althought that Strangways bloke in DR NO looked and spoke much more like Fleming's character than the plebeian Scot lorry driver they settled for, the 20-film-franchise-creating fools. Or so I hear.

...and they turned Bond into a Scot and made Flemiminiming turn him Scottish as well by standing over him and hacking at him with knives.

Scum. There's no finer word. Scum scum scum scum scum. I want them hurt. I want their families hurt. I want everyone they've ever met or passed in the street very badly hurt. I want their pets maimed, their houses bombed and their nostrils to blister.

They are very bad scamps and need a bit of a smack.

1) Your certainly entitled to make predictions, but don't be shocked when they get thrown back in your face...
