No, please please please please please no.

A break from the cars is really needed, in my opinion.

A bond film without a car? He has to have one - but I agree that they dont' need to make a big deal out of it in the movie.

i actually hope that they will use the aston martin DB5 for the whole movie like in goldfinger because in my oppion, i think it is the sleekest, and most beautiful bond caar to date.

and because connery drove it :)

Yes. Take From Russia With Love, Live and Let Die, Moonraker, Octopussy, Licence to Kill and others into consideration.

I'd go with the DB5 myself if a car is needed. Whichever way they go I hope it's a long time before we get gadget-laden cars again.

If there is a car (and I want no car-related action sequence or gadgetry), a convertible would be a nice change of pace.

I'd love for the lotus esprit to be reused and i'd love to see the Bmw Z3 of goldeneye again - since it didn't see much action :)

My sentiments as well Harmsway.

If Bentley does release their planned convertible GT in 2007, that might not be bad.

A car has to be a part of it but I'd prefer something more realistic, so my choice would be the Audi S8.

The problem with using another Aston Martin is that they all look the same. There are variations obviously but the body style and look is exactly the same.

It's time for a change. There's no reason it can't be an Aston Martin, but we need something that looks visually different.

EDIT:
Hey that was my 100th post! Harmsway, Zencat.... watch your backs, I'll out-rank you before you know it. Only a few thousand more to go :)

Bentleys appearing in rap/hip hop videos has dimished its stand IMO. Fine cars, but I just don't associate them with someone like Bond any more.

I agree. Bond should move on from the Bentley. Maybe go for a new Jag instead?

Those, just like the AMs and Bentleys have been seriously downgraded in my eyes since moving here. They're all over the place, usually being driven by people with plenty of money but no style or driving ability whatsoever. If you can't park it, don't buy it! Bond should be a bit more original.

Attached File  2008_Lotus.jpg   104.05KB   46 downloadsI am very happy that the series is moving away from the gadget crazy world that Pierce was stuck in, however, I would like to see Her Majesty's Secret Service provide our hero Mr. Craig with the 2008 Lotus Esprit. A subtle nod to the past. I'm not saying I want to see it driven into a lake and CGI into a sub, but it would be cool to see him cruising through the twisties in the new Lotus. Lotus would jump at the marketing possibilites as this car will be released in early 2008.

Any color but yellow and it'd be a cool choice for a Bond movie. If they ever bring back a "Q" branch, I'm sure they could have some fun tricking this out. :)

Would be interesting to see a Lotus reappear in Bond movies, but I wouldn't mind a break from cars for BOND 22 either. I think it's a good challenge to the writers/producers to regularly have Bond using other forms of transport.

Yeh, I agree it would be a nice change to not have a vehicle, but I think we all know that it is unlikely. However, having Bond in a "man on the run" style mission like FRWL, involving trains, planes and maybe another piece of watercraft...I always loved the boat in Moonraker, would be really cool.

I've kept meaning to post this, but while at the dentist I was reading some showbizy type mag (not a major mag like EW) and there was an article about the new Jag. At the end it quoted the head of Jag marketing (or something like this - Italian name) who "confirmed" the new Jag would be Bond's car in Bond 22. He also said Le Chiffre drives a Jag in CR. But I kept thinking of when the head of Fiat "confirmed" Bond would drive a Panda. Still, for what it's worth. Sorry I don't remember the name of the mag ("Hollywood Life" maybe?). I should have taken it.

Interesting. Wonder why we hadn't heard anything about this online before (but then I suppose it brings up the question of how reliable this spokesperson/article may be).

Good old Hef.

Compliments of my recently arrived October issue of Playboy (and proof I read it for the articles...amongst other things) here's what I wouldn't mind seeing Daniel behind the wheel of.

The new 2007 Bentley Convertible turbo.

Here's the car for Bond 22.

:P

As to rumors of Bond driving a Jag....Well, there's nothing wrong with a Double-O driving one and he did in the Benson novels.

Not that I'm biased or anything. :) :P

I think a Jag would be great as well, I'm not biased either [censored]

From what I hear about Bond 22, instead of going undercover as some rich person as he usually does, he is going to be undercover as a homeless person. His car will be a shopping cart modified by Q branch :P
