To my mind, it doesn't matter whether or not something's been done before. What matters is how well it's done, and I'll be giving this film the benefit of the doubt until I've seen it.

I mean, if Eon were to announce that BOND 23 will feature a ski chase, a pursuit on foot through a town and a scene in which 007 takes the Aston Martin for a spin, would you be complaining about the rehashing of ideas?

Heck, the last three Bond films (and four out of the last six) have featured a traitor within a British government agency, and Bond has been held prisoner and tortured in three out of the last four, so repetition is hardly unique to the M:I franchise. If the M:I films "always" resort to the rogue agent plot point ploy, then Bond being perpetually bollocked by M and constantly having a "personal" mission are things that are also getting pretty old.
