We shouldn't be too harsh on Elextra, Renard, and Zukovsky's accents all wavering slightly in TWINE, but what are your favourite "bad accents" in the Bond movies.

The worst for me has to be the late Ken Sharrock, a Liverpool actor, who plays the Jailer in Afghanistan in The Living Daylights. He lapses so often into his normal Liverpudlian/Scouse accent, it is funny. "I did not tell you to get up"!!! LOL.

What is your favourite "bad accent" in a Bond film??????

I don't think was supposed to have an accent other than trying to sound like a badass villain. The worst accent goes to Brosnan trying to sound russian in TWINE.

The French guy in the Eiffel Tower scene in AVTAK always strikes me as someone who is trying too hard to sound French.

Yes, good one!! I always laugh when I hear Bond say the words "Monsieur Aubergine"!!! These days it sounds like a name from an Austin Powers movie! :)

Another bad accent - Dr Arkov (the real one) in TWINE sounds Scottish when he does his Russian accent (the actor is actually English), and also the Severnya technician's accent is poor (another English actor trying to do a Russian accent).

Alan Cumming as Boris, only I say that half-heartedly. His character was "appropriate"... in an odd sort of way (stress the quotes).

Pierce Brosnans pathetic attempt to speak German in TND. Isn't Bond supposed to be fluent in many languages.

Agreed that Natalya in GOLDENEYE is a pretty bad attempt at Russian/Georgian ("vyyyverry goood Mister Bond")!! Also, Madonna's struggle to decide whether she is English or American is usually quite poor. We should be happy that her cameo role in DIE ANOTHER DAY was brief enough that we didn't have to endure any more of her mid-Atlantic accent.

:) :P :P Good one!

I am Russian, so I make fun of anyone who tries to imitate Russian accent in movies, especially when they can't quite get it, even Barbara Bach as Anya.

The big Russian woman in TLD is quite over-the-top too, with her accent "will light up like Christmas tree!".

She is a British actress, Julie Wallace, and she was in "The Life and Loves of a She-Devil" on British TV in the 80's.

How about Sean Connery trying to attempt English with a Dutch accent to Peter Franks in DAF? Is there anything about it that makes it any more distinctive than your average Continental Europe accent, even if it is spoken in English?
