I have to agree with a lot of the posters on this thread. The GB on CR was well done. It was an interesting way to suggest an origion of the GB. All part of the process of Bond becoming who he was meant to be. But come Bond 22, I want to see those familiar white dots travelling across the screen and the sight of a casual DC walking along in his Tuxedo and you all know the rest.

I'd actually perfer he did the gunbarrel in a suit, preferably the 3 piece from the end of the film. I don't like the fact that everyone since Moore has worn a tux. I actually perfer the earlier gunbarrels b/c he was in causal clothes, so the fact he was being sniped makes more sense than being in a tuxedo.

I know I posted this already, but just to reiterate, I'm all for the return of the gunbarrel. But I'd love for Craig to be in a suit, and perhaps turn and fire rather quickly, like in his CR gunbarrel.

Yes, I too would like to see Craig in a regular suit, rather than a dinner jacket in his gunbarrels. He looks smart in both, but just feel he is more ideally suited to the former. Will be interesting to see what approach is taken.

I would like to see the return of the traditional GB, although i like
the variations for special occasions - DR (first), OHMSS (Laz's first), DAD (double anniversary- 20th film 40 years) and CR (origin).

How about a return of the producer's credit scrolled across the white dot as it hits the centre of the screen as in DR and OHMSS?
Something like - ALBERT R BROCCOLIS EON PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS. With the EON in the white dot.

Nice retro idea, other fellow! Wouldn't mind that a bit.

Well the cool shot of Craig walking to/through the Casino Royale in CR showed me that he can walk the walk and look the part.

He walks with power but looks so relaxed and casual, almost like Timothy Dalton in his gunbarrels (the most relaxed IMO).

I hope we see this in Bond 22.

:cooltongue:

Thanks 0012.
I wouldn't mind seeing again. Just the once though.

Didn't Campbell say CR was part of a trilogy in terms of how James became "Bond?" If that's the case then let him wear the suit for the next film and then the tux for the third one.

I like that idea, really it makes sense.

I think the dots should come across the screen, then turn into Rover and start chasing after Bond.

Seriously though, as long as there isn't any "Bond fires a bullet into the enemy's gunbarrel" Die Another Day foolishness, then I'm happy. Though, I'd like to see some different music being used in the sequence. I'd love to see another film start with Licence To Kill's gunbarrel theme, or have the traditional JB theme, but when he fires, cut to the From Russia With Love opening credits motif. Or the other way around, with it starting off with the From Russia With Love opening theme, then cut to the JB theme when he shoots. And back to DAD, please no hip-hoppery in the gunbarrel.

I can see them putting it back at the beginning of the movie again but I'm sure they will put a slight new twist on it than in the first 19 films. Remake it if you will.

I missed the traditional gunbarrel opening. It is the signature of the Bond series. It evolved out of the title sequence of Dr. No and has been a mainstay ever since.. regardless of changes in Bond actors. I was also disappointed with the use of black and white. The opening seems to make one feel like they are about to watch and unofficial Bond movie.

That's actually the point (a little). The opening is supposed to throw everyone off guard, let you know that what you're about to see is'nt going to be the same old same old. Some liked it, some didnt, it happens.

Next film will be back to something more of what we're used too.

Absolutely, I'd like to see a return of those familiar white dots - because, well, they're very cool, even though they've been around and they shout "Here comes BOND!"

I also hope they go back to the traditional gun barrel, but updates as with Pierce with either a suit or a tux - I don't care. The suit might be a cool way to go - I like the suit at the end of CR (as mentioned above).

Regards

I'd like to see the return of a more traditional gun barrel for Bond 22, but I wouldn't mind if they kept some of the elements of CR's gunbarrel for it (in terms of style and the overall look of it) as well.

I agree, you could almost hear people go "Huh?" when there was no traditional gunbarrel.

However, I would like to see the traditional one return in Bond 22, but I don't care what he wears.
