This game will determine which next generation console I buy if I'm still interested in Bond games in 2008. I'm praying for a Wii wiilease. :)

I must be really tired because I thought you posted something else. Sorry about that.

Yet something more to look forward to in 2008.

Interesting that the Variety article said the first Activision game would be tie-in with Bond 22 and come out in 2007. Now they've officially announced 2008. Wonder if we can take this to mean that at some point there really was a plan to get Bond 22 out in 2007 and it just proved to be undoable?

i still think they could've made it for Dec.31 2007. its 007's year, they get plenty of time, and i can watch it at new years. Oh well.

Exactly what I was thinking as well. Will be interesting to see what Wilson and the others say when the focus switches from Casino Royale over to Bond 22.

If it does good. Most likely, anyway.

During the same earnings report the CEO said, "We're encouraged by the Wii platform. We have three launch titles planned for it this year. We'll see how the market responds to it. But it has tremendous potential to broaden the market and we've got a whole solid plan against the Wii in the future."

Most publishers kind of passed on Wii kinda like GameCube. A kind of we'll support it, but our primary focus will be on Xbox 360 and PS3. Except at E3 Sony did lousy and Nintendo left the show with a huge huge following. So now all the publishers have been caught rather flat-footed and behind in the game - except for Ubisoft.

If Wii maintains what it's got going now through 2007, surely Bond will be developed for it. I'm sure it's being planned right now for all 3 systems as well as for DS and PSP.

They're not going to release a game tie-in 6 months early though. It's a foregone conclusion IMHO that it will be delayed.

On the bright side, Activision probably has a number of Bond projects on the drawing board. I wouldn't be surprised to see them put more focus on a different Bond game for release around May 2008 or even earlier, perhaps, and then release a Bond 22 tie-in either around the film's release, or even later. Take Superman Returns for instance. Its game doesn't come out till November this year - presumably the time the film will be released on DVD. Also, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough came out a year to 2 years after the film so... it's not unprecedented for Bond.

I as well. I think it's pretty much the general consensus that Everything or Nothing is pretty much the best Bond game they produced. I personally enjoyed The World is not Enough and NightFire quite a bit as well.

Maybe they'll make Casino Royale their debut game?

I hope so! I love playing the Bond games and Casino Royale can be expanded into a gritty steath/FPS type game. Hopefully they could get something out to coincide with Casino Royale's Blu-ray release, although I think it is unlikly. :)

im in no real hurry for the next bond game. would prefer to have a quality product to see what activision is really capable of instead of some iffy rush job. i seem to remember the goldeneye game coming out almost two full years after the movie was released in theatres.

Yes, but that doesn't mean it had a huge amount of production time. The Activision game has already began development while Bond 22 is still years away. The GoldenEye game was only in pre-production during the filming of the GoldenEye movie.
