What you will be able to do on DVD is skip the pre-credit sequence, so that way you will get your gunbarrel at the beginning of the movie, and we will all be happy.

Not me. Hell, they could do away with the gunbarrel for all I care. Never found it that interesting.Oh no, [in the words of victor meldrew] i don't believe it! Why? i mean, it just won't feel right. anyone else feel strongly against this?
However, I do like how they're making creative use of it this time around. I honestly could be embarrassed by it before, it was just painfully cliche.

So do I, but I think it will be. You can get a glimpse of what to expect in the teaser trailer, and that looked good to me (I'd say one of the better parts, actually).i just hope and pray it is done good. i'm all for being creative and moving forward, but like i said, for me,that is what makes a bond movie so special.
Anyway, call me a Bond minimalist, but as long as the movie stars a reasonable interpretation of the James Bond character on an interesting mission with intriguing antagonists, features a few chords of the Bond theme, and maybe has the famous introduction, I could do without most of the rest.

Which is good, after all, True lies paid hommage to Goldfinger pre-credit sequence also

You realize a lot of Bond is cliche, don't you?

Hence the "painfully" modifier. In other words, cliche even by Bond standards.

Happy 40th anniversary Bond... we've screwed up your most iconic image. I like that this gives us anchorage on a bizzare surrealist image that has been with the series since day one. Also makes me want to see it at the start of Craig's next rather than being "been there done that" or waiting for what Arnold's done with the music this time... as with Brosnans - which was a little Dorian Gray for me... it stayed the same age as Brosnan grew greyer and greyer!
Looking forward to this and DC's next gunbarrel!

Well, DIE ANOTHER DAY on the whole was just one big Bondian cliche (and for celebrating 40 years of 007 in a sort of retrospective fashion, that's not necessarily all that bad). But because it was that, it leaves ground to go strip away some of the cliches and go in a different direction. It's interesting, Moneypenny was a joke in DAD, in Casino Royale she's absent. The gunbarrel was ruined in DAD, in Casino Royle it's absent (well, changed). In DAD Q was useless, in Casino Royale he's absent. I see a trend

Never fear, Nick-Nack. There is a gunbarrel, it's just done a little differently this time. It's going to be cool.
I think it's gonna bring the house down the way it's set up...at least I think it will be. And there won't be a CGI bullet this time!
