EDIT: Oh, wait, I see they have CR realse date on there as well. Never mind.
BTW, doesn't really pay to be signed up for the official website "nerws alerts." This comes 10 days after the fact?
I wonder when we'll get the news that Chris Cornell is doing the theme?

I mean, unless you know CR is the 21st Bond film and not the 22nd (and how many people really know that?)....
What's arguably vaguely interesting about this is that it's official confirmation that, yes, CASINO ROYALE is indeed part of the series - BOND 21 and NOT BOND 1. Evidently they're not quite going down the whole BATMAN BEGINS route.

At least this should put an end to Dlibrasnow calling Bond 22 Bond 2.2.

As well as to me also sometimes calling it BOND 2.
Seriously, though, I have wondered - and given the whole "origin story"/casting of the "uncoventional" Craig/retaining of Dench business, as well as (I think) Campbell's comments about CASINO ROYALE restarting the series, I don't really think this is a ludicrous idea - whether they'd use the publicity and (on release) interviews to actively distance the film from the first 20.... in exactly the same way as the makers of BATMAN BEGINS (which was, let's not forget, made by the same studio as did the Burton and Schumacher efforts, and I believe also shared some of the same producers) were determined that their movie should be seen as the start of an all-new franchise that had nothing to do with the films BATMAN - BATMAN & ROBIN.
Purely for sentimental reasons, I hope that Sony and Eon won't go down that path with Bond. The old "legacy", and all that. *Wipes nostalgic tear from eye*
