First rule of writing anything with a fanbase is to ignore the fanbase

We make good points and we come up with some good ideas, but in the end, we don't know what the hell we want. 50% of Bond fans want Bond to have Moorish qualities, while the other 50% wants to kick the out of the first 50% for even coming up with that idea.

Well, I signed it (it's only at three!). I think Risico is a great title and should be used, if not as the next film than in the future.

It's a great idea but I don't think it's our place to demand or petition for such things. Decisions are never arrived at from groups, they come from individuals. We don't own the character or hold any real influence, I'll just enjoy what the owners do and let my money do the talking.

Besides, how bad would it be if they made their decisions based on the whim of a bunch of facless people online? I think that would do more to dilute the character than anything else.

well i signed it. I've been thinking long before, that Bond 22 should be Risico then it comes out that it maybe. hopefully, but it would change anything though.

Actually, I was among a group of fans on the alt. site in the first couple of months of 1998 (when the "rumored" title of the next movie was 'Pressure Point') lobbying hard for the next Bond movie to be titled THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.
Now, I don't know if it was just an amazing coincidence or that EON had its ears to the ground but the next movie ended up finally getting the title The World is not Enough.

Risico is such a good title that Daniel Craig should change his name to Daniel Risico!

I do however, love Fleming's chapter title 'Death is so Permanent'

I think Risico is a great title and thge one word titles are usually the best. Things such as "Nobody Lives Forever" are corny and already taken by Bond spoof computer games and such.

The Death Collector is good.

I used to post regularly in alt.fan.james-bond as well. In fact, I made a post about the title "TWINE" being considered for "Bond 18".

It was probably more to do with Raymond Benson. The original title for The Facts of Death was The World is not enough, but allegedly the publishers rejected it for not being Bond-like, so he just put the TWINE title on the last chapter instead. Then a year later a Bond film called The World is Not Enough went into production

I'd rather not try and force a title on them. If the title Risico fits the script of the next film they may well use it, if it doesn't why use it? Force them and they would end up tacking it on with a cheesy, random quote in the film just as "The World Is Not Enough" meant fack all in the film.

Yeah its a bit silly. They should give the film a title that fits the film, not try to shoehorn the word Risico in there somewhere just because it came from Fleming.

In any case, 16 signatures after a month? Yeah, take that, EON!

I think Eon is going to call Bond 22 whatever they want to call it (and maybe they've already decided). They know the title Risico exists, no one needs to tell them about it. It's gonna be what it's gonna be. I just hope to see it at the end of CR. But don't tell them to do that either.

I don't like the title. I've already applied for the RisicoNotBond22.com domain.

There are so many good titles, chapter titles, phrases or Flemingesque phrases out there that could be used. "Risico" is one of the worst titles, and wasn't it from the FYEO short story, where Colombo was trying to pronounce the word "risk"? It's been years since I've read the novel(s).

How about: Shamelady....Shatterhand....Brokenclaw....Icebreaker....Nobody Lives Forever (my favorite)...The Death Collector...

Shamelady would be quite appropriate for a follow up to Casino Royale, come to think of it. I'd like to see Risico used at a title where it makes sense, though.

I could see "Risico" being used as the name of the villain, but I would introduce him in the previous film. That way audiences would immediately know what the title meant.
