Apart from the obvious - Bond, M, Le Chiffre etc. what slightly more sutble and fan pleaseing elements from James Bond have been kept in the film?

What I have found - please add your own.

The Vesper/Recipe
benzedrine inhaler
FRWL train sequence
Bond's backstory - parents etc.

The car chase is intact, pretty close to what's in the book too.

They've changed it from the December draft a decent amount (all vast improvements, IMO). It's now a grounded, but really exciting sequence with a lot of drive to it.

true, I was thinking the smaller elements.....

But virtually all of these won't be noticed until one sees the movie. Or has read the script, which is no guarantee that these "the smaller elements" will end up in the final released cut.

Any gereral details you can say with out giving too much away? Like how much longer is it now and what elements may have been added?

Bond's hand doesn't get scared by an SM during the torture sequence but the homing device in his wrist gets cut out.

One small and perhaps coincidental detail that I've posted before elsewhere is the use/mention of Madagascar in the plot. In the novel, it was where Monsieur Versoix (owner of the hotel at the end) lost his arm fighting, and in the film it provides the backdrop for the whole parkour scene.

Also nice to see the retention of names such as Tomelli and Gettler from the novel in the movie.

I hope Bond still places the money on the outside of his hotel room door. That was ingenious in 53' and would still be today.

In the book, Bond explains to Vesper (I think) that becoming a double was easy and that he had a double agent and a cypher clerk to thank for him earning his LTK. Good to see that there are still two guys who give hime his double o.

The first guy isnt revealed to be a cypher clerk (or anything else for that matter), but the second guy is definately a double agent.

I agree, it was ingenious, a really cool little moment in the book. Can anyone confirm if its in the script?

I just noticed a possible reference to LALD. In that novel Bond is being`led up a stairwell by the villains henchmen and he dispacthes the goon by sending him falling down the center of the stairwell, much like how Bond takes care of Obanno's gaurd as seen in the trailer.

It just sprung into my mind, and I have to ask; Does Vesper die, the way she does in the book?

Simple yes or no will do.

Thanks !
