We all know Connery enjoys changing his image and character by choosing a different type of wig. Even in the Bonds we had quite a lumpy affair for TB, an on and off affair in YOLT, and a jauntily thrown at various angles affair for DAF.
I used to think TB was the first outing for the rug, but GF clearly has an element of weavery to it too.
What I'm wondering is did Connery start wearing a hairpiece in FRWL or even DN. Does anyone know?

Well it's up. I did a Licence Revoked and changed the name from "Toupee" to "Hairpiece" just incase any of you kids didn't know what "Toupee" meant.
Actually, in what could be considered a massive missed oppurtunity, only the first 1/3rd of the article is about the Toupee, the rest is about obscure film props that aren't sort after by collectors. I think I might have to do a "Part II" one of these days to make up for it. Oh well, hope you all enjoy it.

Love the articles freemo. Yours and the ones you talked about.
I want that pink tie! Would go well with the Miami Vice stuff I have.
Pizzas and Mickey Ds, huh? And you still "need fattening up"!? I envy you as my 115kgs can be attributed to this kind of masticating.

You are absolutely correct Dr. Tynan. Connery did indeed start balding in his early twenties and so for this reason, he took to wearing a toupee.
I couldn't believe it the first time I read it. I think it was in a SKY magazine.

No problem Doctor. Always a pleasure helping out a fellow fan.
Whilst were on this subjetc, I have to say:
Connery's hair piece in Never Say Never Again was the worst of them all. Absolutely atrocious! It was even grey with brown tint!

It's funny that Connery wore a toupee before he played Bond. I always thought that he didn't give a [cuss] about being bald and that he wore one (what you might call) "reluctantly" for the Bond movies.
Maybe (for whatever reason) he cared about being bald when he was younger.

Funny, I always thought that he started wearing one in From Russia With Love.
And by the way, how do they (the toupee people/hairdressers) get it to stick on so well? Just wondering. ;D

Sorry Freemo. It was just something I'd wondered about. I didn't know Sean had a toupee on in Dr No and FRWL. I'll have to study those more closely next time I watch them.
It's amazing what you can learn here at CBN.
Yeah, those NSNA wigs were less than impressive, but someone at another site siad they were very expensive. The most expensive ever in a movie? The money certainly didn't show on screen that time.
