Daniel Craig to appear in animated film with former 007 villain

New James Bond Daniel Craig will team up with former 007 villain Jonathan Pryce in a stylish new animated movie, set in 2054 in Paris, France.

Craig will play missing persons cop Barthemely Karas, who must delve into the Paris underworld to track down a kidnapped scientist, voiced by Romala Garai in film noir cartoon Renaissance.

The black and white film, which also stars fellow Brits Catherine McCormack and Ian Holm, uses the latest live action motion capture and is animated in 3D.

Based on a story by French animators Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre Patelliere, the film will premiere around the upcoming ComicCon convention in San Diego, California (20-23JUL06).

I've seen the trailer for this - it does look interesting, to say the least.

It's already made? Why isn't on Craig's IMDb page?

There's in interesting article about this film in this month's Sight and Sound. I think it's also reviewed in the magazine too.

Was Daniel Craig's voice featured in the trailer?

Not my cup of tea but it looks cool. I may have to check it out.

I saw the trailer a few days ago. Didn't known Craig was in it. Looks like a cross between Killer 7 and Sin City. Neat anyway.

Quick thought: how cool would it be to have a black and white, film-noir 007 movie done in this style?

would be VERY cool.... (but only as a mini-film... not as one of the main 007 films)

it's too bad Daniel's voice isn't in the trailer.... gotta love that voice. I've also always liked Pryce's voice.... sounds good here as well

I think, having heard the UK/US trailer, it does include a tiny clip of DC voicing the main protagonist, Karas...but it is extremely short (a matter of a few words).

Looks intriguing, to say the least, and again good to see him continuing to take diverse roles.

I can't wait to see this film (animated). It's out at my local cinema this month (25th Aug) and I think it's 22nd Sept in the US?

Renaissance Movie Synopsis:
In 2054, Paris is a labyrinth where all movement is monitored and recorded. Cut off from the world for its own protection, the city has nonetheless continued to expand. Now, 21st century skyscrapers overlay centuries-old architectural masterpieces. And below street level, a sophisticated network of streamlined plazas push up against the city's ancient, deteriorating tunnel systems. Casting a shadow over everything is the city's largest company, Avalon, which insinuates itself into every aspect of contemporary life to sell its primary export

Hell yeah! That would be something new for the bond franchine. If they had the current cast and everything... But only as voices.

Or think if , with this current technology, they would make that type of film noir'ish 007 game for the 'now current' console generation? Nothing top action, but to have this film noir 'interactive' James Bond cartoon, which...yep, would feel and look just like a black and white cartoon, but have interaction with the characters and all. Would be pretty cool.

I'd buy that for a dollar!!!
