I just wanted to know how big is Valenka's appareance... Does she fight against Bond and Vesper? Is she a Femme Fatale or just a "cameo" Bond girl?

She's just LeChiffre's girlfriend, I don't even recall her having that many lines.

I believe Valenka is also Le Chiffre's bodguard, in which case it's a good bet that she'll do someone some damage at some point.

OTOH, those who've read the script (64% of Bond fans, apparently ) will doubtless be able to clear all this up pretty sharpish.

I forgot about that bodyguard bit, probably because she doesnt do anything, at least nothing memorable (though it has been a while since I read the script).

She does hardly anything to be honest, and I would argue, neither does Solange. The main female focus is hugely upon Vesper - the other girls don't really play a huge role in terms of plot in my opinion - they become additional eye candy to a certain extent.

Valenka is Le Chiffre's girlfriend/bodygaurd/henchwomen. She is usually seen at Le Chiffre's side. It's not as big as previous bad girls a-la Zenia or Frost but she gets to do a few things....SPOILERS!

She is the one who poisions Bond's drink, she is manhandeled by Obanno and his henchmen and is the one in charge of torturing Vesper. There's a bit where she tells Le Chiffre that she "Can't find the pliers" which Le Chiffre sees lying on the table and hands to her.

She uses pliers to crush Vesper's fingers (not displayed on-screen, but we do see her take the pliers and go into the room where Vesper is bound naked to a chair (her back to us), and if I remember correctly, we hear Vesper scream.

No, the train scene is when Vesper first meets Bond.

If you read a copy of the original Fleming novel of CASINO ROYALE, the scene in the movie is a fairly accurate representation of it.

Wouldn't go as far as to compare her to May Day! But yes, it's a similar idea - Valenka is indeed one of Le Chiffre's bodyguards and his girlfriend.

Damn! I didn't know they were adapting the book this faithfully. I knew about Bond's scene, but not Vesper's.
This is getting more interesting everyday.
