According to a Daily Record article we linked to regarding Diane Cliento's "appia" days w/Sean, she claims that he took LSD to cope with his Bond fame. Now, I had heard rumors of Sean hitting Diane, which she finally confirms in her book but, I have NEVER heard any rumors of Sean doing drugs. Has anyone here ever heard such a thing?

This is news to me. But, I really don't care. And to tell you the truth, I hate "kiss and tell" books. And I'm getting bored with Ms. Cliento and this book. You know "Let him or her who is without sin, cast the frist stone." And all that jazz.

Might explain the ballet, though.

Out of context, the article is misleading.

This disclosure has been made in some of the numerous Connery biographies.
Connery took LSD as part of the prescribed form of treatment from fellow Scot and physcotherapist, R D Lang. This was quite normal in the 1960's as mind-altering drugs were seen as a legitimate way to free one's mind and one's consciousness. It was seen as an artistic exploration and this is the reason, they say, Connery dropped some Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. Lang was also a proud Scot and Connery discussed the ails of Scotland with him leading Connery to form his charity, SIET, Scottish International Education Trust.

The papers naturally have to sell copy. But, in context, the story is a little bit more understandable. Connery was probably not a regular user of drugs other than alcohol, nicotine and caffeine.

Which then makes it difficult to understand why he agreed to make Zardoz...

His prescribed LSD use was not disclosed in the biography I read. Thanks for clearing that up, ACE!

That pic looks like a turkey with Connery head sticking out of it's backside.

Hey. Hold on. This LSD is pretty good.

The only way to enjoy Zardoz is on LSD.

Problem is, you think you're already on it if you're watching it.

Red nappies, man.

Coooooooooool.

Hey Ace, I just noticed you had a Billy Preston tribute near your signature. Very cool of you.

As for Connery and LSD, far out, man. I think he was on PCP when he made A Fine Madness.

Ta Turn. See this on the late BP...

LOL. A new comedy thread is upon us. The "What Drugs Were They Doing When They Did That Film" Thread.

Was Roger Moore smoking crack when he did Bullseye with Micklewhite and Winner (if ever there was a more inappropriate monicker...)?

Was Timothy Dalton on rare amphetamines when he did Sextette with Mae West?

Did Pierce Brosnan discover and then use his sons' dope stash when he did the Mike Graham movies?

Was Danie....[Er, that's enough - Ed.]
