In the story which i am posting in the fan fiction posting area there is the character of the owner of Casino Royale and i was wondering

A: What his name is
and
B: Which actor is playing him in the movie of Casino Royale

Actually, I'm not sure that has actually been officially confirmed. There was nothing in the December 2005 draft that stated who the casino owner actually was. This may well have changed since then bearing in mind that Christensen was originally named as a casino owner, before being named as Mr White.

I thought Mr White was the "Blofeldesque" character of C.R., I mean Le Chiffre's boss, who will return in Bond 22... Am i wrong?

There seems a great deal of confusion over the character of Mr White. I'm not entirely sure myself but the situation as I understand it is as follows:

Mr White is a villain in CASINO ROYALE who orchestrates a meeting between Le Chiffre and Obanno. He is arguably behind many aspects of the villain's plots in the movie. He is the only major villain left alive, and is tracked down by Bond in the movie's final scene. There is no mention in the script that he owns the Casino Royale. This idea has arisen out of speculation based on the fact that Jesper Christensen was originally linked to a role of a mysterious casino owner. I'm sure all will be revealed. But it does seem as though Mr White will be returning in BOND 22 due to the cliffhanger nature of the script. As to whether it is in a Blofeldesque capacity, we can, yet again, only speculate.

Hope that may clear up a few things for some people, although I may well have got a few details confused!

Mathis is the top dog. Think of how that might work out for future films. Think about SPECTRE too. Who was #1? If you're saying to yourself it was Blofeld, you're wrong. It was Largo for security reasons. Blofeld was the 'top dog' but his designation was #2. In the novels. They didn't use this in the films - they were numbered by importance while in the novels it was random, but surely this would be a nifty twist to see this 'security feature' played out. Mathis is just too big of a character (IMO - he's one of my favorites for whatever reason) and I just find it hard to believe they would make him a henchman or informant or whatever for someone bigger. It certainly looks like it, though.

Well there may be doubt over whether Mr White returns in BOND 22, but I would imagine that Mathis will certainly return. In some respects that may be the major cliffhanger between the movies. Just wondering which characters will probably return from CASINO ROYALE - off the top of my head:

Damn it guys. This is frikkin' intrigueing . I personally think Mr White is the main plotter of all criminal activities. Call him the 'Doctor No' of this film, as they say he's also the Nr.1 of the main crime syndicate in the film. If he does stay alive, well, then he's obvious the 'Blofeld' of these days.

You mean he's a bad guy? Some of older Fleming fans might not be too happy about that. Although this does make him different from Felix Leiter.

It's like in the book, where Vesper is captured after a note from "Mathis", except this time its a txt, and Bond overhears one of the badguys mentioning Mathis - is he a double agent? noone knows

Maybe Mathis is going to be a recurring Nina Myers style rogue in the Craig films. Either that, or he's a good guy, but on a VERY delicate undercover operation. Hopefully Giancarlo will be back for Bond 22, the Felix Leiter casting snafus of the 60s films should be avoided.

I don't think Mathis has anything to do with Le Chiffre/the mysterious group at all, undercover even. I believe that it was just the bad guys putting doubt in Bond's mind, it's a powerful tactic - making someone believe that the person they're working with is untrustworthy

I totally agree with your interpretation of the situation JC. I think it would be a bit much for the producers to so drastically change the role of Mathis as had been established in the literary canon. But like you also said, hopefully we will see Giancarlo Giannini return as Mathis, and Jeffrey Wright return as Leiter - and we won't be subjected to a rotation of actors for a single part. It would spoil it slightly.

I want Mathis to come back, desperately almost, as a good guy. He is a great character as written in the script, and from what I've seen of the trailer (and as I expected) Gianinni plays him excellently. Too good a character to waste in just one film. It is clear that by the end of the film M believes that the truth about Vesper clears Mathis. I hope the old girl sticks to her guns.

Yeah, but at the end M believes Mathis is cleared, except Bond doesn't believe so. I find it difficult to believe Bond would still be blind at that point - or still so wrong. I mean he could, but somewhere I gotta believe that his instinct was right - but perhaps for the wrong reasons. What if Mathis is the new Blofeld (not to be taken literally) and they just caught him on a hunch - a mistake. Interesting set up for Bond 22. All speculation though.

God I hope not, to have him a villain would be a major waste IMO.

A far better plot line (sub plot) would be to have him return and Bond still being suspicious about him, and him - towards the end of the film proving that he isn't 'dirty'
