James Bond is British, so he should as least come from that neck of the woods (ie: English, Scotish, Irish, Welsh).
There was 1 aussie, but he shouldn't count.

Of course you're joking...Kevin Costner is a terrible actor-adequate at best. All wrong facially and physically. No sense of menace. The actor who plays Bond should be able to make audiences believe that he's a killer. He should also have some charm and more than one expression.Costner ain't 007 material...

I think it's not a good idea. The main reason, without looking at him as an actor, is because he is now too old.

I say KEEP BOND BRITISH! No, I am not a nationalist or anything like that; I'm an artist (Master of Arts, if you will) and strongly believe that the most Bondian aspect of Bond is his Britishness; it's in his blood!!! If we take that away and make someone like Costner Bond, then we would have done what we have done with a lot of our ideas - exporting them rather than harnessing them - except in this case, we would be gonging the death nell of a great film institution!!
