Just wondering if anyone knows. I just saw it on Ebay
Published 1968 - 255 pages. This is the first post-Flemming James Bond book, written by Kingsley Amis under the pseudonym "Robert Markham." It is an excellent read, with all the hallmarks of a great James Bond novel. The book is in very good condition with a slight browning of the page edges. Dust jacket has a few scuff marks and is a bit faded. Nonetheless, this book will make an excellent addition to any James Bond Library.
Any help will be greatly received!!
Is this the 1st Edition Colnel Sun?

Yes, the painting by Tom Adams is amazing. I've seen other covers by him...his book cover art is the most extraordinary I've ever seen.White Persian (02 Aug, 2001 12:13 p.m.):

It's a nice edition, and a great addition to the Bond bookshelf, but not a first, I'm afraid.

White Persian is right. That's not the First. It's the British bookclub edition. But it is a great cover, isn't it?
I'll email you the cover of the UK First and you can post it here if you like.

I have a copy of this at home; I picked it up at a university jumble sale some years ago. I really do believe the first Jonathon Cape & Pan editions of COLONEL SUN are perhaps the best Bond novel covers ever. And not to mention the the title sounds like one of the best, and the villain himself perhaps not surpassed till Benson's Le Gerant.Blue Eyes (31 Jul, 2001 07:03 a.m.):
