Seems worth it to me if Activision is able to capitalize on the popularity of the Bond name. That said, after the damage EA has done to the franchise, lets hope Activision is able to turn it around and make some good games.

I do hope, however, that Activision sticks to first-person-shooters and stays away from the third-person fare that EA seemed to be so fond of. They gave the third-person games so many chances, and were only successful once (with EoN).

I liked this part of the article the best:

Activision wasn't shy about rubbing in what some perceive as its victory over EA at the E3 trade show, with an area of the firm's stand facing EA's booth being dedicated to showing off the 007 logo and scenes from old films in the series, despite the fact that no products based on the franchise have been announced by Activision as yet.

While EA may try to play it off as them wanting to move forward without licensed material, I still think they were bitter about the fact that they haven't been able to make a good Bond game since they acquired the rights.

The only decent EA Bond game IMO was Everything or Nothing, AUF, NF, GRA and FRWL are EA's worser titles

Good decision, I certainly hope. EA let me down a bit...hopefully both the game engines and the voice acting scripts will improve.

Finally! i can play bond games again. EA in my poinion had destroyed the Bond game reputation. Rare was the only studio that had it right with Goldeneye. All EA games weren't even close to being on par with goldeneye. Everything or nothing was the last one i played and quite frankly i think bond games should be in 1st person view. If you look at Call of Duty and Brother in Arms (the new one coming out), all of those are superb....so lets all hope for bonds sake its like that sort of gameplay.

cheers to Activision....its about time.

Indeed. I mean, I want a great Bond game again. We had a fun one in EVERYTHING OR NOTHING, but it wasn't a game for the ages. I hope Activision really brings their A-game to the table with this next entry.

PC as a platform announced. Also will be developed by Beenox and Vicarious Visions. Ports most likely of what Treyarch is already doing for various other systems such as the Nintendo DS or PSP or the Wii. Treyarch will most likely focus on the 360 and PS3 versions. As I predict in my post there, Beenox will most likely handle the PC version and Vicarious Visions will handle everything else. It is unclear, but this is what they tend to do for a multiplatform game. See the Spider-Man games for instance.

Not happy. Activision calls it a "racing" game. All we want is a first person shooter like goldeneye.
