I've seen it on the GoldenEye, on Alec Trevelyan's train, and in the statue park in GoldenEye 64, but I don't know exactly what it means and what it stands for. Can anyone tell me the significance of this bit of history?

it's an acronym for Union of Soviet Socıalıst Republics (only in Russian of course). This goes back of course to the days before the Cold War was over.

My knowledge is the same as Paul's. That is, it's USSR in crylic.

Well, it's better to write CHOBA B CCCP. The Russian letters H и В are pronounced like the latin N и V, respectively. Hence "Snova v SSSR".

I knew it had something to do with Russia but never knew what it mean't. I remember seeing it in From Russia With Love, The Spy Who Loved Me, and GoldenEye.
