Personally I'd like him to do six (course I wanted Brosnan to do six as well, and look how that turned out).

I want him to do five with Casino Royale, The Property of a Lady, Icebreaker, The Man with the Red Tattoo, and finish out with Colonel Sun.
Sounds good to me.

I'd like to see him stick around as long as Connery and Moore did. If I like his portrayal of Bond as much as I think that I will, then I would really like to see him do 6 or 7 Bond films.
He may be too old to do that many. Connery started at the young age of 32, but by his 6th, he looked a little too old. All the more so, Craig at 38 probably can't do that many.

Realistically, I don't see him doing more than five, and certainly being done by 2015, probably sooner. If all goes well and the quality of the films stay respectable, I'd be surprised to see him not exercise his option for a fourth, presuming he gets that opportunity in a reasonable period of time, say, by 2012.

If they return to the one film every other year schedule, I think that they could easily get 5 or 6 films out of Craig before he starts to age to the point where he couldn't continue in the role.

I dont want him for the fifth if in the fourth he looks tired and old.
Bond has to be young.

No, I'm the same way. Five seems like the perfect number to me, spaced out every two to three years, so that any given Bond doesn't overstay his welcome or leave before his time, the search for the next Bond takes place every decade to fifteen years, and every generation has one or two Bonds to call their own. Better than the schizophrenia we've had since the beginning. That's all my post was based on too, I'd hate to have him do one, or even two. But I'm not sure I'd like him to do "just" four either, I had really wished Brosnan did five. It's odd really, in my mind, four is too few, but five is just right. Does that seem weird to anyone?

I like that way of putting it, that every generation should have its Bond.

I agree with both of you. Personally, I'd like Daniel Craig to do a minimum of three films and a maximum of five. Of course, that is now and without having seen him on film as 007. I suppose I could change my mind regarding Craig, but I think three to five films is a reasonable range--and of course the better the Bond, the higher the number of films.

We don't know how good he could be and you're already dreaming about how many movies he has to play...
He signed for a three movies deal
Just wait to see at least his first outing, then talk about it!!!!!!

Or maybe you think a longer run a la Connery/Morre is better?

Look where we are right now - there are already threads looking to Craig's replacement.

If we're lucky we'll get 4.
If we're really lucky we might get 5 or 6, but I doubt that.
Remember the days when we all thought Brosnan would be around for 6 though?
I'd personally like 5. 4 seems to be too little and 6 too many. So...

There's nothing wrong with speculation, and as it turns out this topic has turned into a lively debate. Isnt that what a message board is for? I really get tired of people who click on a thread with the sole intent of being an .

Then, when they go to see a Hugh Jackman Bond film two years later with an invisible car with an intelligent, wisecracking computer voiced by William Daniels, they'll realise what twits they've been!
