Wouldn't it be fantastic if Shirley Bassey would be singing the title song for Bond20. Especialy because it's the 40th anniversary.
And personaly I think she's the one and only real Bond-girl!
Comments are welcome....................

yeah i agree with you guys !!
i think this would be the "song" for Bond 20 !!!
If we don t have her, i would like to have AT least Tom Jones with a fast song (like Arnold said he ll do for Brosnan Fourth role of bond)

Quite frankly I don't want Bassey to sing the next theme. She did a good job with GF and DAF, but I think a different singer should have been chosen for MR. I like what she did with GF, making a stupid song sound good.

Blofeld's Cat (06 Feb, 2002 03:52 a.m.):
As long as it's in the same vain as GF, rather than DAF or MR. I prefer her as a "belter" rather than a "crooner".
It's a deal. And it's nice to know that I've made a semi-convert. ;D

I'd loooooooooooooooove Shirley Bassey to sing it! For the 40th! I have to agree though with BC, I want a goldfinger type.
Sounds like this one is not as 'soppy' as TWINE, so i expect a hard Bond Song.

really? I didn't notice that on the version in the DVD. Maybe they decided that Bassey's comment wasn't quite the thing to put on a disc celebrating the movie.

What a cracker of an idea! if she can still cut the mustard that is. Leave Ms Ciccone to record a song for somewhere in the background and give the job to good ol' Shirl :-) Roll on Nov. 2002!

Finally! Someone else who sees the intelligence of having Ms. Bassey belt out another Bond theme for the anniversary. I've felt lonely in these theme posts at times being the only one who thought Shirley was a better idea than Robbie Willaims, Elton John, and Jamalwortidqaui.
Bless you, Mr Bond. Bless you.

Shirley you two are joking.
But I must admit, Mr *'s constant posts on this matter is slowly swaying me.

And Jim, I don't mean I'm into S&M either.

Ever heard the Disco version of Moonraker. It'ss the best seventies score, in style of Marvin Hamlisch and Bill Conti's disco influences. THIS song should be the title opener. And....don't forget. She can sing like......'undescribible'........... Only KD Lang has a very 'go to the top of your possible singing skills' -voice (Do you understand me?)

But........that will never happen. Because, last day I saw the documentary 'The World Of James Bond' presented by Liz Hurley. During that documentary, we also see an interview with Shirley Bassey. She clearly said that the whole Bond series is just running far too long. She would like to see the franchises end!!!!!!!!!
Therefore, she also won't like to do a Bond theme song again
