According to latino reviews script preview of Casino Royale, Le Chiffre will lose his money shorting Boeing stock around the time they are set to unveil a new prototype aircraft. Could the prototype be the new 787, Boeing's answer to the airbus A380? Bond has always been known as being first to showcase various things be it actors, locales, gadgets, vehicles, etc. Seeing that Boeing was mentioned specifcally in the script, they must be involved and have approved whatever the writers have planned for the prototype otherwise they wouldn't let them use their name. The 787 is set to enter service in 2008. Could Casino Royale be the big screen debut of this aircraft kind of like the space shuttle in Moonraker?

Great find, ASO, although I'm entirely sure that the Boeing 787 will be the prototype in the film. Yes, since Boeing was specifcally mentioned in the script, that means that they did get the blessing from Boeing themselves. But I bet that Boeing was just written as [Airplane Company] in the original draft before Boeing did infact give them the stamp of approval. If that's the case, then the prototype was already planed in advance, so it would be up to Boeing wether of not they would want to use their real prototye in the film.Bond has always been known as being first to showcase various things be it actors, locales, gadgets, vehicles, etc. Seeing that Boeing was mentioned specifcally in the script, they must be involved and have approved whatever the writers have planned for the prototype otherwise they wouldn't let them use their name.
But after all of that, I say yes, Boeing should let them use the 787.

Thanks for the link to the pics. Well, if the 787 Dreamliner is in the film, it's going to get blown up. Campbell already said that one of the only explosions in the film is at the beginning and involves an airplane being blown up. And we only see this from a distance.
No, the 787 will be one of the few planes in Bond history not to wind up exploding. Campbell never elaborated on the "one explosion" comment. From what can be put together from the various script reviews out there is that Bond will save the Boeing prototype from destruction.
Somehow I think there will be several explosions in this film but no where near the amount we had in the last few films. I think there will be only one "big" explosion, the one Campbell said is "in the distance". I doubt the explosion shown in the behind the scenes footage will be the explosion Campbell was talking about. You can clearly see the multiple cameras set up to cover all the angles and there are rather close to the blast so I wouldn't call that shot "in the distance".

ok, thanks for the insight. I didn't know that, just something I read somewhere. But, the 787 being in the film is great. And I'm glad it's going to be alright.
