Why not cast George Harris(Morty from Layer Cake,he was also in Black Hawk Down and is going to be in the next HP film) as rebel leader Steven Obanno?

The only problem would be filming on Order of the Pheonix, but from the sound of it the role of Obanno will be small so maybe it could be pulled off. If not there's also Delroy Lindo.

You're on a role, ASO! Both would be great choices for Steven Obanno. I however think that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje would be even better. The only problem is that he's filmimg Lost. But Obanno is a small role.

Hello everyone - first post

I'm looking forward to these next few months before Casino Royale comes out. I've been very impressed with reports of the script and casting so far, and this brings me to the issue of Steven Obanno. Having seen Layer Cake, I agree that George Harris would indeed be interesting in the role. Also, I was wondering if anyone could confirm that Obanno is the character formerly known as Solari, or whether it is perhaps the other way round? (i.e. Solari replaced Obanno in the script) Similarly, does anyone know whether Seydina Balde is now playing the role of the bomber in Madagascar?

Well, we're really not sure about the Obanno/ Solari situation. It's obvious that they are the same character. As to which one will appear in the final product, not sure, although it will probably by Obanno.

Seydina Balde was cast as Solari when Dimitrios and Solonge was cast as well. But now that it appears that Obanno might have replaced Solari, once again, not sure.

Yes, He would be the perfect choice. There is something sinister about him. My friend downloaded Get rich or die trying and he did fine as the villain Majestic. Whoever is cast as Obanno needs to have a powerful screen presence for what little screentime he has. I also think that it will be Obanno who has Le Chiffre killed so Obanno should be someone that even Le Chiffre fears. Damm, it's too bad all three actors appear to filming other projects.

Another warm welcome to Vauxhall! And yeah, I think Solori was a carryover from the DAD script where the Icarus weapon was called Solaris, and the name Solori was a place holder. I think Balde is indeed playing "Bomber". He was present at the pre-shoot party in Prague and it was revealed that they filmed a fight in an emmbassy. They probably shot the interiors in Prague and are shooting the exteriors and most of the foot chase in the Bahamas.

Hmm...perhaps we could be back at looking at Seydina Balde for the part of Obanno, even though he seemed better suited for the part of the bomber. Information on another Bond website is suggesting that Sebastien Foucan will be making his acting debut as Molakka - the terrorist chased by Bond in the Madagascar scenes.
