I don't know how many of you have checked out the photos. (The link is on the Main Page.)

What strikes me most is the tattoo. I don't remember seeing that in "Layer Cake". Is it real (and covered up in "LC")? Or is it fake (and for "Casino Royale")?

Will Bond be sporting some ink in "CR"? Interesting...

Connery had tattoos and they covered them up...most of the time. They were visable in NSNA though, which annoyed me.

There's no problem here, they'll be covered up.

I know about Connery's tat's; even with the make-up, they're still noticeable in "GF" and "TB", too.

But I wonder if Craig's is a real tattoo. Like I said, I don't remember it in "Layer Cake". (Unless I missed it, or it was covered up; someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.) If it isn't, then is it possible that this is a temporary tattoo for "Casino Royale". The tat looks vaguely "military" (like mine ), and it's certainly not unheard of for Navy men to get a little ink...

I just wonder if giving Bond a tattoo is another way to break with the past and emphasize the point that this is a new, tough, butch 007. If so, I don't have a problem with it; it's actually kind of a cool tat.

(Of course, if it is real, then I agree with you; they'll cover it up.)

Anyknow exactly what the tattoo is of? My opinion would be that it is definitely real. Just the idea of James Bond going out of his way to get inked is a bit much.

PS.. Is it just me or is anyone else getting a real Thunderball vibe from the pics?

It's a real tattoo that was covered up in "Layer Cake," but you can see it in Craig's movies "The Mother" and "Enduring Love." By the way, he has three tattoos on his body.

The one thing I like is his athletic build. I've always liked Connery and Lazenby best, partially because they looked so fit for the part. Craig looks that way too.

A speedo and a few tattoos. How attractive. I thought maybe his character in Enduring Love had a tattoo but this is proof that they're real. I'm glad the production is in the Bahamas now.

Can't quite figure out what the tattoo is. It looked like a christmas tree to me! Can't blame the guy, i have a couple as well.

I do get a very TB/GF vibe from the pics. Perhaps those black spandex trunks remind me of the blue ones from Goldfinger. If only he tossed on a baby-blue onesie made of towel fabric, id call him one of the greats.

Hopefully Craig gets used to the extra attention. These sort of pics always end up on VH1 where they either make fun of you are say how good looking you are. I think the latter would apply to Craig. Though i couldn't read the captions, certainly seems to be more favorable press than OwOw7.

At the first impression I've thought the tattoo would show the SAS badge, but as DanFan2 pointed out, this tattoo belongs to Craig and not to the Bond character. You can see it easily in the film The Mother for example. It is in no way Bond related.

I really like the way Craig looks, and I do hope that the tattoo won't be covered up for the role. Even though it's not really Bond's tattoo, it could add to the character, Bond being a young, arrogant prick in Casino Royale. And he could even come to regret getting the tattoo in later films.
