$495...

Having obtained many of the UK 1sts of his books, I'd love to one day get this one at a somewhat decent price, but it just seems to get more expensive every day.

This edition is signed by the author.

The UK paperback is quite easy to get, it's the hardcover that costs $$$.

I see, but hardly Fleming... not worth that much, even in scarce edition.

 It doesn't have to be written by Fleming to fetch extremely high prices on eBay.

I got the TND novelisation from a book store not so long ago for $15. $495 is ridiculous.

The hardcover first edition is incredibly collectible and rare. One of the rarest Bond books there is. It use to it cost $300, now it's at $500. I expect it will continue to climb.

It really makes me wonder why though. Was its print run that much smaller than The World is not Enough or Die Another Day? First editions of both of those are still relatively easy to come by on eBay, abebooks, etc.

Indeed.

And what's sadder from a personal point of view is that its only since the TWINE novelisation that I've started picking up a couple of additional copies of the UK hardback firsts. :cooltongue:

Yes, I think it was extremely small. Even smaller than GoldenEye which is also a very rare hardcover.
