$495...

Having obtained many of the UK 1sts of his books, I'd love to one day get this one at a somewhat decent price, but it just seems to get more expensive every day.

I see, but hardly Fleming... not worth that much, even in scarce edition.

The hardcover first edition is incredibly collectible and rare. One of the rarest Bond books there is. It use to it cost $300, now it's at $500. I expect it will continue to climb.I got the TND novelisation from a book store not so long ago for $15. $495 is ridiculous.

Yes, I think it was extremely small. Even smaller than GoldenEye which is also a very rare hardcover. It really makes me wonder why though. Was its print run that much smaller than The World is not Enough or Die Another Day? First editions of both of those are still relatively easy to come by on eBay, abebooks, etc.
