A Gadget-Laden Bond Car After All?

"I do know what the gadgets are and I can reveal that they are inside the car," said Ray Wootton, RC2's head of sales and marketing who added: "but I cannot give details at this stage. What I can say is that the model DBS will feature great action as all our Bond cars have in the past."
So are the gadgets non-action related? The MI6 main page does cite that "RC2 have announced a 1/18th scale Aston Martin DBS premium model, with gadgets never before seen in a James Bond model car." So are they other sorts of gadgetry (not the usual rockets, etc.)? Or will we be be seeing another gadget-laden car chase?
The last thing I want is another gadget-filled car chase (though I do want a car chase, as it is in the original novel, anyhow), but I'm certainly not going to object to the car having some other gadgets (a weapon tray, for instance, or a special satellite link-up, or something else). I'm not opposed to the car chase on grounds of the "gritty, realistic" vibe, because after all, THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS had a pretty big car chase with some fairly outlandish stuff too and that worked well enough. The actual reason I object is that I think the "gadget showcase"-style of car chase has been played out in the Brosnan years with both TOMORROW NEVER DIES and DIE ANOTHER DAY.

Groan. The idea of a gadget laden Aston Martin bores me like I can't tell you. This has been DONE TO DEATH.
I quite agree zencat....it used to be something special done about once a decade...

Well, we're still not sure *what* gadgets they are referring to. MI6 did claim that they haven't been seen before... so maybe we'll have some more unusual and non-weapon oriented stuff. Who knows.Groan. The idea of a gadget laden Aston Martin bores me like I can't tell you. This has been DONE TO DEATH.
The idea of a gadget laden Aston bores me to tears, though, too. It went as far as it could go with DIE ANOTHER DAY.

Quite.....how do you top an invisible car? Make it a time-machine?

I can see the dialogue now:

Q: Now listen up, Bond. We've outfitted your Aston with some new developments. This right here is the Quantum Flux Capacitor. Been in development for some time. It wasn't until I had a nasty spill in the bathroom that I thought of it.
BOND: Well what does it do?
Q: Time travel.
BOND: Time travel? You must be joking.
Q: I never joke about my work, 007.

LOL....I was thinking precisely the same thing as I posted it...

It hardly sounds laden: the gadgets are 'are inside the car'. Not exactly out of this world. I presume there is slightly more than the glovebox medikit and radio, but it doesn't sound like there's much more.

I quite liked the transmitter/print out bit in GE.
A medi-kit (as has been rumored) is perfect for the unused weapons tray in the DB5 or DBS.
No machine guns, rockets, invisibility etc.
A few simple utilitarian devices or equipment.

Could this just be the usual toy business. Like having an 'Arctic Adventure' Batman toy, or a 'Ninja Kick' Spiderman toy. These things are not always directly tied to the film. They often take few liberties.

Not with THESE models, which seek to recreate exactly the film. These are more toys than they are collectibles."with gadgets never before seen in a James Bond model car"

I want the gadgets to be along the lines of the Silver Beast from Gardner's novels. That vehicle was fairly gadget-heavy, but all the devices were very grounded and utilitarian.
Well put. Make them something that is unique but not ridiculous.
