Just when you thought the casting rumours could not get any stranger. Sky News has revealed that Bond bosses are trying to woo Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher to make a return appearance - but this time as a baddie.

Posted Image

Teri starred as 007's big lost love, Paris, in 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies and said it was a "swell" experience. Now producers of the new movie, CASINO ROYALE, would like her to play the bad girl against new Bond, Daniel Craig.

"I think it's great that I can be bad, even if it's just on screen. I'll leave an open mind until I see the script."

Here's a different version from another site:

[ibox]Sky News reporter touts false Teri Hatcher in Casino Royale rumour

MEDIA RUMOUR
Neil Sean - the Sky News showbiz reporter who makes a living by making up stories - can "reveal that James Bond bosses are trying to woo Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher to make a return appearance - but this time as a baddie."

Teri starred as Bond girl Paris Carver in 1997's "Tomorrow Never Dies", and despite numerous reports of on-set friction and fall outs, she told Neil Sean it was a "swell" experience.

According to the online rag, Teri hasn't ruled the idea out of returning in Casino Royale. She apparently said: "I think it's great that I can be bad, even if it's just on screen. I'll leave an open mind until I see the script."

Rumour Rating: Give it up Neil Sean.[/ibox]

This has been around for a few days now. Some papers used it to spice up the recent Clooney/Hatcher rumours (whereas other papers used the Hatcher/Clonney rumours to spice up this story :D )

Think I read somewhere that the story origins from a Sky News "reporter" who is best known to make up weak and crappy rumours...

Edit: Ah, you beat me to it, Niwram

This story has been circulating for a few days now. It was originated by Neil Sean a showbiz journalist well known for fantasizing.

It sounds like rubbish to me.

It's true.

I can now reveal what I know (from a trusted source).

Teri is the henchwomen ala May Day. She is actually reprising her role of Paris Carver, come back from the dead. It will be the first zombie to appear in a Bond movie, "but not the last", so says my source.

My personal opinion about this whole ordeal is that Teri Hatcher should not return to play in another Bond movie. It would look really weird if she returned to play as a bad girl in CR. She has already played Paris in TND and if I recall that her part in that movie turned out sucessful. Anyway thats my opinion of this ordeal.

Well I am taking this rumor with a grain of salt but I wouldn't be too suprised. They say she may be up for the role of the bad girl and that goes along with Stax's report that they were looking for a "name" to play the villain's girlfriend. And this wouldn't be the first time an actress who's character was killed off in a previous Bond returns in another role. Maud Adams anyone?

I wonder if the fact that Hatcher was pregnant at the time she made TND, and thus cut into her on-screen appearance time had anything to do with this decision (if in fact the rumor is accurate)? i.e the producers giving her another shot - while capitalizing on her immense popularity in the states on the TV show Desperate Housewives.

I'm mixed on this news - I wasn't a fan of Maud Adams dual roles at the time so I'm not sure about this.

She was immensely popular at the time of TND as well, with Lois and Clark. Wasn't she the top internet-searched female back then?

I wasn't too happy with Hatcher's role back then. I don't want to see her return now. This would truly sink this ship that already has one hole too many.

I agree - Hatcher would be totally wrong and set off any balance this film has to achieve. As for Maud Adams - well, at least she seemed more interesting and mysterious. Hatcher is fine in a comedic role (as in DH) and she was eye candy in TND. But apart from that... Also, I just can

Ah, Teri Hatcher. How I swooned for those, er, brown eyes at the tender age of 14, when I first saw her on TV as Lois Lane...

And how I had come of age four years later, when she left me completely cold in TND...

And what a nasty joke this new rumour is!

And what a field day those nice people at the Daily Mirror must have:

'WHO ELSE BUT DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE TO SHOW INTEREST IN JAMES BLAND?'

Yeah, but neither would it for Judi Dench. Yet here we are, with Dench both at the beginning and end of Bond's career as either 2 different 'M's or the same one.

And if Pierce Brosnan did return as Rene Mathis, then my dream I once had about CR would actually come true. I dreamt Brosnan did return, but in a different role as a consolation for losing it to another actor.

That picture's from about fifteen years ago. She's since lost roughly half her bodyweight and looks like the corpse bride. No thanks.

From the few shots I've seen of her on ABC's Desperate Housewives, she looks incredibly thinner. (I thought she looked great in Tomorrow Never Dies).
