I've heard he did some preliminary costume fitting.
But I don't believe he did any filming.
If Mr Schofield would like to come forward with his video evidence, I'd love to see it.

Funnily enough, Jill, as described in the novel...and screenplay...had blonde hair, and I don't know if any blonde actresses were considered for the part.
As for Lazenby shooting any scenes for "Diamonds", the story I've heard was that the end of OHMSS, with Tracy dying, was considered to be part of the pre-titles for DAF. But when Lazenby announced he was positively, absolutely through, they kept the entire story intact for OHMSS. Not certain if this is true, but perhaps if nothing else it was an idea roughly thrown about...along the lines of the plastic surgery idea to explain Bond's different look.
Oh yeah, I've also read (in her autobiography) that it was Lana Wood who had the affair with Connery during production. But as it was such a small part, perhaps it was for only a few weeks.

Anywho, I just have a thing for redheads.
So does Bond, apparently.
Anybody else find it interesting how at least important blonde Bond girls got changed to redhead for the films? Why?

Actually the Jill St. John and Henry Kissinger fling was well known at the time. If I remember correctly they were often filmed together going to parties. There were comparisons being made between Kissinger and Ben Franklin, who as ambassador to France, apparently appreciated some of the services the French women in court were providing him. That's why a lot of us were surprised by the Lewinski brouhaha.
(This is true) It has come out that in order to protect the secret negotiations with the North Vietnamese, who threatened to break off negotiations if anyone got wind of them, Kissinger would show up at Washington DC Friday parties with some famous and beautiful woman and then leave the party early with the girl in tow. Kissinger would then hop on Air Force 1 and fly to the secret negotiations. The press would only see him leave with a beautiful woman and then not be seen for the rest of the weekend.
This is how Henry Kissinger became known as a sex symbol.

Is this Jill St. John in this picture with Lazenby??
If so, can anyone shed any light on when and where this picture was taken?
Fascinating, Mr. Sterling! I had never been able to picture Lazenby and Miss St. John together but obviously there it is!
Isn't there a picture of Jill and George together at one of the OHMSS premieres? I want to say it's also in Cork/Schivally's "Legacy". Jill, if I remember correctly, was originally intended to play Plenty. But when Connery signed on, and Raquel Welch didn't, it was decided St. John had great chemistry with Connery and they promoted her.
Good choice. I've always thought that Connery and Jill had a great playful(if not really romantic) chemistry together. Her being an ex-girlfriend of Frank Sinatra and this being a lighthearted film(relative to OHMSS, anyway) made her the perfect Bond girl for DAF. Especially since Bond would not be ready for another serious romance after Tracy's death, Jill's Tiffany was the perfect follow up girl.
Funnily enough, Jill, as described in the novel...and screenplay...had blonde hair, and I don't know if any blonde actresses were considered for the part.
There was one. Her name was Dunaway....Faye Dunaway.
