It's ironic that he passed away a week after his ex, Shelley Winters, died. He was one year younger than the original actor to portray Matt Helm, Dean Martin, was when he died.
His version of Helm, a tv series where Matt was a private eye, ran only 13 episodes. Don Hamilton was not a fan of the series.

Yes, it's no wonder the series ran only an unlucky 13 eps.

The pilot for the Helm TV series was scripted by Sam Rolfe, who wrote the pilot for The Man From UNCLE.
