That is indeed very strange. Out of all the names only this one is missing.
Maybe Zencat knows why.


I'll be darned. The name "Lippe" is missing from the U.S. edition! :tup: (But "Count" has been added.)

Afraid I don't know why.

Hmmm...very strange. I wonder if there are questionable legal issues here in the United States?

I doubt it. It has nothing to do with Thunderball, that's for sure. They were always clear of that whole fiasco. Gardner confirmed this, that's why he was able to use SPECTRE. I can't think of any other legal problems that would stop them from using just a last name - a mere mention and not even the same character.
