But if you're insistent upon owning it, that issue of Playboy isn't hard to find for pretty cheap on eBay. (Just remember to search in the Mature area.)

If you can read French (Archives 007, first issue) or Italian (G-LA RIVISTA DEL GIALLO, Oct-Dec. 1998), you can read the unexpurgigated version, why it hasn't been published in English is anyone's guess.

I think all 3 of Benson's short stories should be put online and made downlaodable as ebooks.
Forget e-books. Put them out in a collection of short stories in novel form. THAT is the way to go and should be done so we, the public, can have a complete library to everything Bond.

Yes, just add in his memoirs and the unpublished [st=2334"The Heart of Erzulie"[/st] and you've got a short story collection.

Actually, it may be my favorite of Benson's Bond work. OK, the romance angle was lame, and should have been left out, but the story was solid, and it tied up a few loose ends nicely. After all the years of by-the-dots Gardner, it was nice to see Fleming's man again.
I agree. (Well, just behind High Time To Kill on my list.) And was it just me or did anyone else picture Bond being in his mid-fifties in this story. Perhaps it was him having a grown-up son or perhaps it was the artwork, but this is the only story I see Bond as mid-fifties.

thanks everyone for that.I was wondering if anyone could suggest to Raymond Benson that he publishes his short stories on his own web site available for download ? He could even charge a nominal fee perhaps?Just an idea. I would have thought that all authors would want their work to be read so this may appeal to him.Failing this i guess i will just have to wait fora colection of
Mr Benson's short stories to be published when or if they ever are.

yeah.... can't exactly find this at the local library
Haha, too true. I'd just say that whoever has both it and too much time on their hands should just transcribe it somewhere. If it's impossible for anyone to get, I don't feel guilty reading it off the net.

I still haven't found it--although I really haven't been looking alot for it recently compared to all the other books/short stories.
