I know that there's a similair discussion in the Bond 20 board but I thought I'd open up this one in the Australian board with a little thing that I found.

Back in July 1998 when Bond 19 (TWINE) was still called 'Fire And Ice' it was rumoured that the movie would be shot in Australia. Here's the full article (a very interesting read). Please comment!

Cheers!

JAMES BOND is heading Down Under. The next 007 film could be the first to be made abroad in protest at Gordon Brown's tax laws. The news follows the rumpus about the Rolling Stones, who recently declared that it would be uneconomic to strut their bones on the British stage. I've been looking at Fox Studios as a possible candidate for filming Bond 20. http://www.foxstudio...u/professional/ is a good address, it's a behind the scenes sort of thing of all the work done there and what's available to the user.

Here's a list of films/major TV shows that were shot at Fox Studios:
* The Matrix
* Babe: Pig in the City
* Farscape
* Mission Impossible 2
* Moulin Rouge
* Star Wars: Episode 2

And Matrix 2 is apparently getting under way extremely soon. And Star Wars Episode III will be filmed there as well!! Could be a likely candidate should Pinewood not be used.

http://www.foxstudio...nal/conditions/ Have a read of that. It talks about all the conditions and wages that are used by the MEAA (Media and Entertainment Arts Alliance) which is the Australian Union. Which makes me suspect that if the strikes happen - well Australia will be fine :)
