When you read a Bond book which Bond do you picture?
sc3 gl1 rm2 td1 or pb2
Or do you have your own Bond in mind. I know I picture someone very close to looking like gl1 without the big ears and clumpy face :).

Sometimes when reading On Her Majesty's Secret Service or Casino Royale it is fun to picture sc1 to get an idea of what it could have been like...

I have no clue how you guys are bringing in the photos, but I wouls say that my version of Bond has always been for me Brosnan with a scar on his cheek, as Fleming dictated.

Sorry -- this is what being around in the eighties will do to you.

Ah yes, the difference between a woman and a computer....

With a computer you put software into hardware. :)

rm1 = rm1

That pedestal is looking a little rocky at the mo. :)

I think Bond looks like a cross between pb2 and rm1 . Basically Roger Moore with black hair (he does have blue-grey eyes, right?).

The Bond I picture is sort of a cross between td1 and sc2 but he has a Dalton voice if that makes sense.

Same thing with Colonel Sun, and Benson and Gardner's books.

Nice Hoagy, Mr *!
As well as Carmichael, I believe Fleming once said that the golfer, Henry Cotton, looked like how he pictured Bond. Wish I had a scanner, because I tracked down a golfing magazine with a nice pic of Henry, who looks not unlike Hoagy, but a bit fuller in the face. It's not a good angle, but you can see Cotton at http://www.corbie.co...n_carlekemp.htm

Oddly, since I nearly always mentally "cast" novels I'm reading, I've never pictured any of the movie Bonds when reading the books (except for the movie novelisations), perhaps because I read all the Flemings *before* seeing the movies.

Of the actors, though, Dalton is closest to how I see Bond, but with a touch of Connery in the personality.

I imagine Bond as rm1 with black hair. I really wish the novelisations would be like The Spy Who Loved Me and have cover art without the film poster or the current James Bond on them.

What's with sc2 ? Is it supposed to look screwed-up?

Who do I picture... why pb1 of course.

Not because he was the first Bond I saw, that was Connery on TV, or the first in the theater, that was Moore, and not because he looks most like Ian Fleming's "Hoagy Carmichael" description (he doesn't, thank the lord).

And it's not because he's my favorite Bond and IMO plays the most complex, interesting & appealing Bond.

It's simply because it's a lot more fun to envision pb2 while I read than any of the others. He's extremely nice mind candy. ;-)

My dear Xen, let me be your lovely knight in shining armour (or should that be enarmoured night of shining love :) )

I know first timers are shy so I'll be gentle.

There are three Conereys: sc1 , sc2 , sc3.

There is one Lazenby: gl1 , gl2[/3]

There are two of your man Rog: rm1 , rm2

There is only one of Dalton: I think you've gotta hold of it. (Oh, yeeeees).

And, there are two of Brosnan: You should definitely have a firm grasp of it now. YES, YES, YEEEES!!

Was it good for you too. :)

Some would say: "who cares", but I really do. Touch the monitor and feel the warmth of my sincerity.

I sense Bond as having Dalton's voice and looking across between Dalton and Connery, with a lot of literary uniqueness as well and with a more scarred body and elegant chin.

Well, I picture Connery when reading Flemings books, and Brosnan when reading Benson's (I haven't read Col.Sun or any Gardener's). Overall, I imagine Bond as looking like Brosnan, but hey, I have grown up with Brozzy's films:)
