I think this sucks, as I love those stores and am almost always in them.

Plus, focusing on Sam Goody (where everything is $15 more than it should be  ) is a downer as well.

I thought they were more widespread. Imagine a store like Borders or Barnes & Noble, but with less focus on books, and more on movies and music.

None near me. I don't understand a focus on Sam Goody either, I hate that store.

Quite. It's the most overpriced media store I've ever been in.

The Media Play in my area closed about 10 years ago. I was a bit sad at the time to see it go as I got some cool things there like my Bond movie poster necktie. And I remember seeing an LTK hardcover I never bought that made me wonder if it was the rare one, though I'd doubt it.

There are a few still in the Columbus, Ohio area. I wonder if they will have any closeout sales. I wouldn't mind checking that out.

On Cue was the only one that was never around here. The Suncoasts closed long ago, and now all there is left is Sam Goody.

Apparetly all the closeout sales start to go in effect this Sunday.

I'm familiar with Media Play but I don't think I've ever been to one. And there isn't one in all of South Dakota as far as I know -- I don't recall seeing one in Denver either.

Qwerty,

I didn't know that Borders Books was known so far out! Pretty cool. Funny story; back before Borders had a big chain of stores the owners/founders of Borders Mr. and Mrs. Border lived only 2 houses down from me, nice family!

Wow! This really sucks!! Media Play is my main source for music, DVD's ect.. I think that they have a way better selection than Borders or Barnes & Noble.. This really bites! As for Sam Goody, the two stores that were in town here, closed down about three years ago.. I thought that they went out of business.

It should be the overpriced Sam Goody closing. I'll never understand how Media Play closes, but Goody stays open.
