I just heard Adrian Biddle died of a heart attack aged 53. Terribly sad.

I absolutely adore his photography of THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.

Other credits include ALIENS, WILLOW, 1492, THELMA AND LOUISE, 101/102 DALMATIONS, EVENT HORIZON and JUDGE DREDD.

Sad. I also think he did some work on OHMSS. Can't exactly remember what Biddle did, but he was involved in that film too.

You are right- he was Egil Woxholt's apprentice on the second unit (the first film Biddle worked on). He apprenticed Woxholt on a number of a movies before joining Ridley Scott Associates in the mid 1970s as a focus puller. He then went on to light for Scott on many many commercials before getting his features break as a DP on ALIENS.

This news has made my heart miss a beat. I was only thinking about his staggeringly wonderful photography to the Mummy movies yesterday and how odd it was that he wasn't even nominated as those two movies I think rank amongst the best photographed in many, many years.

It's a shame. Best wishes to his family and friends.

Sad news. RIP.

Even though his work on TWINE isn't exactly admired by many of us here, his other projects have apparently garnered him much acclaim.

According to imdb.com he was assistant camera on the second unit. His work was uncredited.

I rather like the photography of The World Is Not Enough, and I also like his work on Aliens.

What are you talking about? Your post was the one I quoted here saying I had never heard of it before you brought it up here.
