A Sydney paper has carried a good report on the Bond20 Press Conference by a guy called Bruce Wilson.
He mentions in passing that the films have got Bond's famous Martini wrong- that in the books it was "stirred not shaken".
I suspect he's mistaken, but he seems so certain I'm doubting my memory of the originals.Anyone read Fleming recently, and able to pinpoint the relevant passage?

No, the guys an idiot. I'm not at home to check the book but according to the Commander's Club (and I know this to be corect) in the 'Essential 007' section the Martini is made in Doctor No chapter 14. From the Commanders Club:
Martini:
Made with vodka, medium dry [Something like four measures of vodka to one of dry vermouth] with a twist of lemon peel [DN 14]. Shaken, not stirred.

Thanks guys.
I'm glad my memory of Fleming wasn't wrong.
Might write to the paper and set them straight.

He might be thinking of Henderson in YOLT ("that was right wasn't it?").
But I agree with Mr*, the guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.
