I am looking at a book on ebay.com that is called BEST MOTORING STORIES edited by John Welcome. It contains a short story by Iam Fleming entitled James Bond Drives.
Does anybody (Zencat) know if this is a real 007 story or if it is just an article?

According to Bondian.com, it is an excerpt from a Fleming novel (It doesn't say which one.) The listing can be found here. The same editor did a collection called Best Gambling Stories, which has the story 'A Game Of Bridge At Blades' taken from Moonraker, and a collection called Best Secret Service Stories with the story 'Mr. Big' taken from Live And Let Die.

This is purely a hunch, but if "James Bond Drives" is an excerpt, my money would be on it being either from Casino Royale - Bond in the Bentley in hot pursuit of Le Chiffre and the abducted Vesper or from "Goldfinger" - Bond in the Aston tailing Goldfinger and running Tilly Soames off the road.Mister Asterix (20 Nov, 2001 05:20 p.m.):

I agree. Of the two I would guess Casino Royale purely on the basis that Mr. Welcome's other two collections contain exerpts from earlier Bond books, and that Best Motoring Stories and Goldfinger came out the same year, I doubt they would have put an excerpt of a book that's just come out.
