I believe it was on one of her CD singles [a b-side]? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Bjork's You Only Live Twice was never released under her request, only available as a mid-quality mp3. Long time collaborator Natacha Atlas also did a version of You Only Live Twice and it's on her "One Brief Moment" CDS, the vocals are a little too flowery for my liking.

Hmm, alright. Thanks for the info Paul! :)

I had thought Atlas had also worked on another one, but I wasn't sure which CD (if) it was on.

[quote name='Qwerty' date='1 January 2004 - 23:31'] [quote name='taxman2001' date='1 January 2004 - 18:17'] All the tracks on the album are pretty interesting variations on the originals.

The worse track is the Bond theme by LTJ Bukem.

Agreed Renard. I love 'History Repeating', 'Backseat Driver' and 'OHMSS', all of them truly move with a pace of their own, just pop them in if you want a good time! :)

I'd be interested in seeing their work on the James Bond Theme.

Bjork released "You Only Live Twice" as a B-side on the "Post" single. It can be found on imesh and the like.

Got this from the good folks at ajb007.co.uk.

I'll be honest, this CD dissapointed me slightly, it wasn't the songs I knew, improved, why is Space March in OHMSS? Someone please explain that to me. The Bond theme, was not the Bond theme, some of the vocals, are plain creepy.

Johnboy, I personally think that bit was added into OHMSS on purpose. why, I am not sure, but I think it's interesting.

The James Bond theme on that CD is just plain terrible.

I did like We Have All the Time in the World. I thought it was handled quite well. It had an updated sound, but was not constant synth, overtaking the vocals and organic instruments.

I also notice some of the elements of Tomorrow Never Dies score in OHMSS. I like those though

Does Natacha Atlas, featured in From Russia With Love, do the vocals for Welcome to Baku, in The World is Not Enough?

Johnboy:

I believe it was Natacha Atlas who delivered the vocals for "Welcome to Baku". She is a longtime collaborator with Arnold, after all (also appearing in "Antonov" from DAD). But why the "Baku" vocals weren't actually used in the movie is a bit puzzling, and disappointing. They provided ethnic atmosphere which might have (temporarily) livened up a dreary movie.

The version of "We Have All the Time in the World" is well done -- all Arnold has done is add a contemporary underlay to the song, and "freshen" it up a bit with a nice beat, drums and guitar. It's a strong cover and beautiful song.

Now I see why I couldn't figure out where I could place her vocals! I was thinking od the movie and not of the soundtrack! Thank you for clearing this up Johnboy and Dmitri Mishkin!

The James Bond theme on this CD is awful but you should check out Arnold's original version. It was released on the DAF single and it kicks butt.
I have it on my PC and am always playing it. There's also instrumentals for OHMSS and Space March I think. Both of which rock!

for me the most improved theme is ALL time high which is really 1000 better than the original

Jarvis cooker from Pulp should really sing the next theme for bond 21.

Did anyone listen to his version of tomorrow Never dies (actually called Tomorrow never Lies ) ? it's pretty good.

J.

I'm trying to track down both the DAF single by Arnold and the Pulp single with Tomorrow Never Lies on it.

Played the CD for the first time since Die Another Day was released, and "Space March" by Leftfield kept on reminding me of "Madonna's DUD." Can't really put my finger as to why, though

Sorry about that Leftfield.

I've always found that song to sound sort of like rave music somehow.

It's good, just different.

I've come across a rare Leftfield 12" promo with the song on. Their music I wouldn't say is like rave music, it's more electronic and less bassy than most dance music, I love the strange electronic bleeps and bloops and general Leftfieldyness of Space March.

Qwerty, if you want to hear more of their stuff, I reccommend one of their albums "Rhythm & Stealth," which includes some good examples of their style (including 'Phat Planet' which was used in the Guinness ad with horses in if that means much to you)

The DAF single should be easily found, and it's a great CD, very strange chilled-out remix on it called "Diamonds Are Forever: You Expect Me To Do What, Mr Goldfinger? Mix"

Classic name

I also came across a gem a while back, a 12" single of Diamonds Are Forever with two 'Trailerman' remixes on. Both funky house music, one a bit more soulful than the other.

And I've also got the music video starring McAlmont (and Arnold as a tramp) very funny indeed.

Thanks alot! :)
