Question... Are the game platform CDs (PS2, XBOX, NGC) different in the UK than they are in the US? Like is I have a PS2 disk from the US and I send it to someone in Europe with a PS2 will the disk work or not work?

Yes they are different, US games will not work in the UK, and vice versa. There are ways around it though if you're feeling naughty, you can get your PS2 and Xbox modded, and the Gamecube has a disc called the Freeloader which allows you to play games from different regions.
