the best would be;
Felix - Gary Sinise, but Matthew McConaughey wouldn't be bad thinking about his accent makes me picture him as the Felix from the novels
Jean Reno would be great in any role, even as LeChiffre
however he was in Mission impossible as was Emmanuelle Beart who i thought would be a good Vesper

Vesper Lynd: Jaime Murray
An amazing actress - and a relative unknown except in the UK, she has the balls to play the role as it should be played and not overshadow Craig in the process

Valerie Mathis: Audrey Tautou
As a tribute to the tv movie we make Mathis a woman and cast Audrey Tautou in the role - she is in the unique position of being the minor girl but being the one who ends up with Bond ...

Le Chiffre: Oded Fehr
If we're going down the route of terrorism - then we might end up with a guy like Fehr of indiscriminate Arabian appearance. Plus he's a good actor and is capable of playing scary and intense.

Vesper Lynd ... an unknown or near-unknown, ideally British, who'll become famous thanks to this Bond film
Le Chiffre ... RICKY GERVAIS (playing it straight, obviously; I truly believe he could make an extremely menacing villain)
Felix Leiter ... JAMES GANDOLFINI (doesn't quite fit the description in the book, but what the heck)
Rene Mathis ... VINCENT CASSEL
Equivalent of the SMERSH assassin who carves up Bond's hand ... SACHA BARON COHEN
M ... ROSHAN SETH
For future films:
Moneypenny ... CATHERINE TATE
Q ... MACKENZIE CROOK

because for real, neither (AWESOME) Vartan nor Matthew (AWESOME) McConaughey could seriously be considered...or Craig would just disappear from the screen.
Well I'm up for both of them. Find a role! lol

One plays Felix, the other plays Rene Mathis. I don't care which one is which!!!
THAT would guarantee that I go see the movie IN A FLASH (And dozens of women with me). And then we'll make a Felix Leiter spinoff since all the women will be drooling over HIM and Rene Mathis instead of Bond.
Who else suggested George Clooney??? bring it on!! all in the Bond movie, at once! and I'll just FORGET Craig is in it! lol

Heaps of box office money, that's for sure with such a cast

Vesper Lynd: Claire Danes
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks she would be a great Vesper. I was beginning to think that maybe it was just me that thought that.

James Bond - Daniel Craig
Vesper Lynd - Jennifer Connelly
Le Chiffre - Michael Gambon
Felix Leiter - Kiefer Sutherland
Rene Mathis - Vincent Lindon
M - Anthony Hopkins
No Q, no Moneypenny. I'll stick to that, although I'll miss Moneypenny (no pun intended, just poor language). Oh heck, why torture myself: let's have that Camilla Power.
Someone on the 'villain thread' suggested Belgian actor Jan Decleir as the villain. He's my backup for Le Chiffre. I'd also be happy with Gambon as M. And Aaron Eckhart is my backup for Felix- though maybe we should start looking for a darkhaired Felix, since 007 is now the fairhaired one.
And this is my 'dream cast' I might add- I know it's not realistic to ask for all those big names, I haven't checked these people's schedules, and I know Sutherland is too closely identified with Jack Bauer, it's just that I think these people would work. Then again, a similar thing happened with Batman Begins- that movie had Caine, Oldman, Wilkinson, etc., etc. Granted, BB had Nolan as a director, but if Craig's and Campbell's comments about the 'terrific script' for CR are anything to go by, the project might just attract the acting heavyweights. The name of Haggis has become synonimous with Oscar gold, and the prestige of a succesfully 'reinvented Bond' is worth considering...

Vesper Lynd - I've still not decided, actually.
Le Chiffre- Arnold Vosloo (You know, I'm getting really tired of saying his name at CBn)
Felix Leiter - Casper Van Dien (Going by Fleming's description in the book, Dien is perfect)
Rene Mathis - Jean Reno (Why not?
