I've mocked up a quick Daniel Craig as Bond poster sing an old one I had lying about. It's not really perfect, but what do you reckon of it?

Good work on the poster, marktmurphy. Definitely dark and brooding as this whole Craig business makes me nervous.

Wow...it would make an awsome Le Chiffre poster...but that is all I see. None the less, great work. Very chilling.

Well... it certainly makes Craig look... awful. But very chilling, as said above.

He certainly is not James Bond that is for sure. Maybe the villain.

Does anyone agree with me that all this smacks of some awful dream that we cannot wake from?

Here's another quick go. Not quite Bondy, but here you go:

Excellent poster of an old man. If Bond looks like this now---he is doomed! I think we need to rush him to the hospital ASAP!

I like it marktmurphy. Very atmospheric. Gives the impression of a tough, serious card player. Craig's look kind of reminds me of some of the James Bond models of the 50s and 60s Fleming pulp paperback novels.

Snide quips aside, it's a fantastic poster, marktmurphy. It's far and away better than anything EON's people have delivered in many years... Very striking.

I love the monochrome and the simple, striking typeface. Very hard-boiled, yet elegant in a 50's clubland sort of way.

I hope it's ok if I post my Craig manips and poster here. I googled for several hours looking for a picture of Craig with black hair that would work and I found one.

Another manip with the picture.

Now here's one where I darked his hair myself.

I think he might just pull it off.

While that is a good piece of artwork, I hope EON goes back to doing hand-drawn poster art. The hand-drawn artwork stuff were always the coolest posters for James Bond especially Thunderball's. The current photo montages just don't quite have the same quality and style of the posters from Dr. No through A View To A Kill.

I was so disappointed in Die Another Day's poster, particularly the U.S. one-sheet which was abysmal, because EON and MGM didn't go back to the old-style posters for the 40th anniversary of the cinematic Bond. Hopefully, they'll do it for Casino Royale. They certainly have the story for it.

Oh I dunno- the painted stuff is wonderful, but the coolest, best designed Bond poster has to be Goldfinger's. You know, the one with Sean and Honor being projected onto the golden girl. Terrifically classy, memorable and simple. And photographic.

I'd love to see a hand-painted poster. DAD's posters were gaudy and poorly composed, with a tacky "photoshoppy" quality. They had no class.

If you mean will it offend me- no, of course not. Some striking images there- looking more classically Bond than mine, which will help many to assess Craig as Bond.

I always thought this was a Bondian shot. If I had any skill with photo manipulation, I'd try to turn it into something.

Though not quite as stylish as the poster MarkTMurphy pulled out of his hat, yours probably give us a more real sense of what a craigian Bond would look like. Nice job!

Mark, your posters are excellent. I think the fact that Craig looks more like a villain is EXACTLY what I'd envisage the original Bond to look like. Doubters fall by the wayside. Craig IS Bond!
