Has anyone noticed that at the end of both Goldfinger and Goldeneye, it ends in Cuba, with Bond and the girl being 'dropped off' by an aircrat, kissing, then helicopter(s) flying over the trees?
Has anyone noticed this? A 'Tribute' perhaps?

Wow, I've never noticed this before.

Probably becuase I don't particularly like the end of GF. :)

Well, they were headed to Washington, DC, however Goldfinger changed the course to head for Cuba. Before they can get very far, however, they have to bail out of the plane, and they somehow end up on a deserted island with palm trees.

Personally I think it may just be because Cuba is still a communist country.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the ending of GE has more to do with the director making an homage to Apocolypse Now than to GF. Or at least, that is what I gleaned from the Director's Commentary.

Goldfinger ends in Cuba???

Since when did that happen? I always thought Bond and Pussy parachuted to some island in the Maritimes because in the novel they were near Newfoundland and I think I remember someone at air traffic control, in the film,--or prehaps Goldfinger--saying that they were passing over Newfoundland.

I never noticed that before. Great observation. It's funny how there are similarities among Bond movies, however, these two movies endings are amazingly similar.

But there was the DB5 chase as well.
Somebody had Goldfinger in mind.
