Double-Oh-Zero (30 Dec, 2001 08:44 p.m.):
Don't forget that Drax also bought the Eiffel Tower ;-)
That fact alone should be able to make him the richest villain.
Come to think of it, I never remembered the Eiffel Tower being for sale.

Of course, it's Blofeld. All though as different versions, he has appeared in six EON movies, the most by any Bond villain - what a stayer!
vFRWL and vTB, even though never fully seen, was still able to project a menacing aura by the tone of his voice and the incessant stroking of The Cat. That simple action alone made those around him shiver and quake in their boots merely by stroking more energetically to indicate his "displeasure".
vYOLT was the best portrayed of this character. We finally got to see that face and no wonder it wasn't shown previously. His dry wit and expressionless face (for fear of splitting open that ghastly gash?) was bizarrely creepy and understated. Much like Dr. No in a way. While the Pleasance performance was criticised as been either too bland or too over-the-top (can't win can you), it is by far the best of the Blofelds, in my opinion. The merchandiser certainly agree as it's this version that's mostly used to depict him.
vOHMSS was menacing and more physical (apparently Peter Hunt didn't like vYOLT). But this time he seemed to have brushed off SPECTRE to hold the world to ransom for purely personal vanity. However, he had one distinction over the others in that he was able to bring Bond to his emotional knees.
vDAF was as camp as a row of tents! He is the polite English gentleman, but still wearing the Chairman Mao suit. Totally lacking any ruthlessness, this version is the least convincing.
vFYEO is Blofeld! Otherwise why bother with the whole pre-credit sequence in the first place. Nothing characteristic to observe here, just merely indicating that Blofeld finally gets killed once and for all. I'm sure it was EON's attempt to kill off the character in the minds of audiences to spoil any portrayal in the pending NSNA. It also ties up a loose end as it was not clearly defined that vDAF was killed at the end.
But as far as I'm concerned, the magic of cinema can determine that it's
_________
As for my favourite henchman:
It would have to be Oddjob. Somehow he actually appeared more sinister wearing that innocuous bowler hat in conjunction with the black suit. It was like camouflage.
Extremely loyal to his boss, he was willing to be blown up rather than let Bond try to disarm the bomb, even though Goldfinger locked him in.
Seemingly invulnerable in a fight and projecting raw power on the screen, it was his inability to speak that accentuated the sheer strength of the man.
I have always felt that the golf ball crushing scene was a euphemism for his wish of doing the same to Bond's you-know-whats.
_________
The best Bond villain ever would be a combination of the traits of both Blofeld and Oddjob, but I imagine that the name wouldn't get past the censors.
Sorry, old joke.

I think maybe Drax. He was able to afford many space shuttles, a space station with a radar jamming system, and scientists to develope the nerve gas from that plant, as well as have a hidden launching site built into an ancient temple without anyone knowing. And of course being able to finance assassins, the boats used to try and kill Bond in the jungle, numerous laser weapons to use in space, etc.

Elliot Carver because when I see him, I think of me. Glasses, clever, calculative, sneaky, no good with the women...
Although, Auric Goldfinger grabs a close second in my list of villains extraordinaire.
My favourite henchman was:
Oddjob. I think its good to see that short people can still have a say in life and what goes on the world. I also think that he had guts to try and blow himself up with Bond, even though he failed.
I'll be writing my own list very soon so hang around for it ;p
Blue Eyes, that was on the 23rd of May, how long does it take to become very soon?

1. Blofeld - he's in so many films
2. Elektra - she had me fooled for most of the film
3. Goldfinger - if only for his line of 'I expect you to die, Mr. Bond'.
4. 006 - Wicked to the extreme, every bit Bond's equal.
5. Largo - the great villain in the great Bond film.
Henchman:
1. Oddjob - he is the first colourful character in Bond films.
2. Red Grant - he is just scary.
3. Xenia Onatopp - oh, yes, baby!
4. Rosa Klebb - she's got the kicks.
5. Stamper - he was great in TND's novelisation.
